All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::NOT LISTED Grady Wilson Published on May 24, 1997 The Santa Rosa Press Democrat Friends and family this afternoon will celebrate the life of Grady Lee Wilson, the longtime Cloverdale resident who would have been 70 years old today. He died May 15 at a Santa Rosa hospital after battling lung cancer. Born in Stigler, Okla., he came to California with his parents in 1943. He served two years in the U.S. Army at the end of World War II and married the former Woodie Anderson in 1945. Following his discharge, Wilson worked for a creamery in Hanford for several years before moving in 1950 to Arcata, where he worked for Arcata Plywood for 10 years. He moved his family to Cloverdale in 1961, and worked as a sawyer for Lindroth Timber Products before hiring on with MGM Brakes, where he worked for 26 years before his retirement in 1992. Wilson, a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Ray Zittleman Post No. 9268, enjoyed going to his "office" and visiting with friends, said his daughter, Sue Dickens. He enjoyed bowling, fishing and camping and spending time with his grandchildren and great- grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Woodie Lucille Wilson of Cloverdale; three daughters, Annette Magoulas of Petaluma, Evelyn Sue Dickens of Cloverdale and Inez Tenter of Santa Rosa; a son, Mervyn Lee Wilson of Longview, Wash.; a sister, Margaret Salyers of Chico; two brothers, James Eugene Wilson of Arcata and Elzie Wilson of Arcadia, Okla.; 12 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. No services are scheduled, at his request. Friends are invited to Dickens' home in Cloverdale at 1 p.m. today.
