Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Eddie Tubbs, pastor of First Baptist Church in Dumas, officiating. Burial will be in Northlawn Memorial Gardens by Morrison Funeral Directors. Mr. Overton was born April 16, 1925, in Holdenville, Okla. He retired as a building contractor in 1979. He married Billie Davis on Dec. 20, 1945, in Borger. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church where he served as an elder and was building and grounds chairman. He developed the Overton-Martindale Addition in Dumas. He served in the Navy during World War II. He was a Dumas resident since 1953. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Karen Owens and husband, Jim, and Kriste Martindale and husband, Bobby, all of Dumas; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to Charles Overton Memorial Scholarship Fund in care of First Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 1118, Dumas, TX 79029. The family will be at 200 Carson.
