She died March 22, 2002 in Arkansas. Sharp Tamara Jenkins Sharp died Saturday at Frederick Memorial Hospital. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the First Baptist Church in Altus with the Rev. John Y eats officiating. Interment will follow at the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home. She was born Sept. 27, 1960 at Altus. She graduated from Altus High School in 1978. She graduated from Southwestern Oklahoma State College receiving her bachelors degree in 1983 and her masters degree in the Spring of 1984. She received her counseling degree in 1984. She attended the First Baptist Church of Tipton. She taught home economics at Tipton High School and also served as the middle school as the guidance counselor. She married Dallas Leroy Sharp June 7, 1985 in Altus. Survivors include her husband Dallas Leroy Sharp of Tipton; daughter Courtney Malone Sharp of Tipton; step-daughter Nicole Ivy of Killeen, Texas; mother Marilyn Kroll and David of Altus; father James Jenkins and Pat of Altus; a grandmother, Nelda Maley of Elcajon, Calif.; brother Randy and Sandi Jenkins of Yukon; niece Jessica Jenkins of Stillwater; two sisters-in-law, Brenda Eccles of Purcell and Linda Eccles of Byng; two brothers-in-law, Larry Sharp of Wichita Falls, Texas and Quinton Sharp and Susan of Tipton; three aunts, Susan McLoud of Elcajon, Calif., Veva Clung of Tulsa and Markey Jenkins of Pittsburg, Texas; three uncles, Mack Jenkins of Pittsburg, Texas, Jim Maley of Anchorage, Alaska and Paul David Maley of Beaumont, Texas; many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Eldon Maley and a brother, David Mark Jenkins. The family will greet friends from 6:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home. APRIL 3: Goodwin Graveside services for Marvin Goodwin, 87, Tipton, will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Frederick Memorial Cemetery with the Rev. Virgil Goodwin, brother and retired minister officiating. He died Saturday at an Altus nursing home. Burial will be in the Frederick Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Gray-Gish Funeral Home, Frederick. He was born Oct. 11, 1914 in Manitou to Jackie Lee and Belle Goodwin. He was preceded in death by both parents. He married Lala Mae McAlister on March 9, 1935 at the Methodist Parsonage in Manitou. She died Oct. 3, 1990. He was a life long resident and a farmer in the Manitou and Tipton area. Survivors include brother Virgil Goodwin of Waxahachie, Texas and two sisters, Crystal Ochsner of Chattanooga and Estelle Roberts of Pierre, S.D. Miles Funeral services for Georgia Miles, 90, Frederick, were held this afternoon at the Friendship Baptist Church. The Rev. R.K. Miles, pastor, officiated. She died Thursday at Comanche County Memorial Hospital. Burial was at the Frederick Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Gray-Gish Funeral Home. She was born March 3, 1912, in New Boston, Texas, to Aurthur and Debbie Johnson. Both parents preceded her in death. She married William Miles in 1947 at Frederick. He died Jan. 3, 1995. She had no children but raised three girls, Dorothy Bell, Linda Hill and Loretta Phillips. To many she was known as sister, grandma, and aunt. She served in many capacities for Friendship Baptist Church. Survivors include sister Mary Payton, Tulsa; nieces, Dorothy Bell, Sacramento, Calif., Linda Hill, Warner Robbins, Georgia and Sheree Johnson of Seattle, Wash.; nephews Stewart Johnson, Spokane, Wash., Andrian Johnson of Seattle; great nieces, Tesha Bell, Sacramento, Tiffany Hill, Sheila Tate, both Warner Robbins; and great-nephews Nelson Phillips, Jr., Anton Phillips, Rodrick McDaniels and Troy Hill, all of Warner Robbins. Payne William Ferris Payne, 93, a former resident of Harmon County, died Friday at Comanche County Memorial Hospital Funeral services were held today at Patterson Greer Funeral Home Chapel in Hollis. He was born Aug. 31, 1908, in Harmon County southeast of Hollis to Charles O. and Mattie Payne. He attended the Star Valley and Hollis Schools. He married Floys Grimes Oct. 14, 1928 and lived in the LaCasa community for more than 44 years. They farmed wheat, cotton and raised poultry and livestock for many years. They were married for more than 66 years. He enjoyed music, family gatherings and attending his children's school activities and athletic events at LaCasa and Gould. He enjoyed all kinds of animals and was a pioneer for soil conservation. He lived with his daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Jim Lynch after the death of his wife Floys. Survivors include two sons, William Darrell Payne of Richardson, Texas and J.E. Payne of Hollis; two daughters, Frances and husband Norman Dang of Richardson, Texas and Linda and husband Jim Lynch of Lawton; one granddaughter, Donna Payne of Pasadena, Texas and five grandsons, Mark Payne of Rowlett, Texas, Brian Payne of Dallas, Guy David Payne of Devenport, Wash., John Lynch and Blake Lynch, both of Stillwater; seven great-grandchildren, Ashley, Nicholas, Katie, Angela, David, Samantha and Jack Payne. He was preceded in death by his wife Floys Grimes Payne; his father Charles Otis Payne, mother Mattie Capps Payne, sister, Goldie Wilson and five brothers, Otis, Robert, Garnett, Sterling and Travis Payne. Pitts Delois Jaunita Pitts died March 27 in the Frederick hospital after an illness. In accordance with her wishes, her body was donated to the University of Oklahoma Health Science Center for medical research under the direction of Gray-Gish Funeral Home, Frederick. She was born June 17, 1940 in Tacoma Wash. to John Allen and Willa Jean (Brown) White. She attended Frederick schools and was employed by Kentucky Fried Chicken for 13 years. She also worked for Pizza Hut and the Home Health Care. She was a Baptist. She was preceded in death by son, Randal Scott Felts; sister Cyrilla Glen Law; her parents and a grandmother, Ida E. Brown. Winters Wynnona Louise Sanderson Winters, 53, died Thursday in Amarillo, Texas at the Crown of Texas Hospice after a long battle with cancer. Services were held Tuesday at the Dodson, Texas Church of the Nazarene. Brother Al Mixon and Darrell Burton officiated. Interment will follow at the Dodson Cemetery under the direction of Patterson Greer Funeral Home of Hollis. She was born in Shreveport. La. on Sept. 3, 1948 to Tom and Geneva Sanderson. She lived in Seattle Wash. for 20 and was employed by Boeing. She was transferred to Houston, Texas, and worked for NASA before becoming ill. She is survived by her parents Tom and Geneva Sanderson of Dodson; two sisters, LaVella Luecking and husband Bruce of Poteau, Katie Allen of Tulsa; four brothers, Randy Sanderson and wife Syble, Gawain and wife Shirley, all of Hollis, Walter of Dodson, Joe and wife Christine of Altus; and several nieces and nephews. Williams Graveside services for Reba G. Williams, 80, DeKalb, Texas, former Tillman County resident will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Frederick Memorial Cemetery with the Rev. Kevin Baker officiating. She died Tuesday at a DeKalb nursing center. Local arrangements are under the direction of Gray-Gish Funeral Home, Frederick. She was born July 15, 1921, in Grandfield to Della and Macey Lee Callicort. She attended school and graduated from Grandfield High School. She married Louis David William. He preceded her in death in 1972. She was a homemaker and a Baptist. She is survived by two sons, Larry Williams and wife Ann of DeKalb, Texas and David Willaims of Mesquite, Texas; three grandchildren, Greg Williams of Terrell, Texas, Patrick Williams and Amy Bynum, brother of DeKalb and three great-grandchildren, Tyler Williams, Trey Williams and Taylor Bynum. APRIL 5: Garner Wanda Maxine Garner, 71, died Thursday at her home outside of Hollis. Services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Corinth Baptist Church with the Rev. Mark Far officiating. Burial will follow at the Dryden Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Stewart Funeral Service. She was born Jan. 13, 1931 in Hollis to Jack and Gladys Fails Leathers. She attended Ron High School, Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford and nursing school in Memphis, Texas. She married Don Garner Sept. 14, 1950 in Gainesville, Texas. She worked as and LPN and Director of Nurses at Colonial Manor for more than 26 years. She was an avid gardener. She was a member of the Corinth Baptist Church. Lovett Barnes, 84, formerly of Altus, died Tuesday at Bellville Memorial Hospital in Bellville, Illinois. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Kincannon Funeral Chapel with Bill Osborne officiating. Interment will follow at the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home. She was born October 2, 1917 in Waco, Texas to Will and Nanny (Zumbro) Crider. She graduated from the Navajo School in Jackson County. She married J.D. Lovett in July of 1934 in Altus. He preceded her in death in September of 1958. She had worked with the public in many capacities and was involved in hotel-motel management before her retirement in 1974. She married L.B. Barnes in August of 1964 in Altus. He preceded her in death in 1999. She had moved to St. Louis to be near her daughter, Anne Bradfield. She was of the Methodist faith and enjoyed sewing, crocheting and gardening. She was a caregiver to many during her life and loved to spend time with friends and family. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; daughter Shirley Lovett Parish; brother C.G. Crider and sister Erah McGinnis. She is survived by daughter Anne Bradfield, St. Louis; sister-in-law Melba Crider, Chickasha; five grandchildren, Gwen Rhodes and Deborah Steedley, both of Atlanta, Georgia; Sandra Reece, Sparks, Georgia; Mary Anne Bradfield, Fairfax, Virginia; Georgeanna Aldy and husband Jeff, Lake Ozark, Missouri; four great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Hill Louis Milton "Luke" Hill, 92, Altus, died Friday at Jackson County Memorial Hospital. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday at South Manor Baptist Church in Roswell, N.M. with Bart Montgomery, Jimmy Montgomery and Boyd Whitehead officiating. Burial will be at the South Park Cemetery at Roswell under the direction of Peoples Cooperative Funeral Home of Lone Wolf. He was born June 15, 1909 in Jacksboro, Texas to Clarence and Ida Lou (Wallace) Hill. He served in the United States Army during World War II, fighting in the Battle of the Bulge. He married Lily May Montgomery in Roswell on July 22, 1948. He loved horses, fishing, gardening selling watermelons, playing pool and dominoes and spending time with his grandchildren. He farmed, working until the age of 82. He was a member of the South Manor Baptist Church for many years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Ida Lou; sons Billy Ray Hill, Travis Montgomery and Quinton Montgomery; brothers, Tom Hill, Chester Hill, Lester Hill, Enis Hill and Leonard Hill; and a sister, Winnie Hill. He is survived by three sons, Bart Montgomery and wife Sharon of Almagordo, N.M., Hershel Montgomery and wife K, of Odessa, Texas and Delmar Montgomery and wife Vicki of Orlando, Florida; one daughter, Bonnie Sue Whitehead and husband Boyd of Altus; sister Alice Ackerman of Arizona; 23 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and one great-grandchild. APRIL 8: Jones Robert Doyle Jones, 67, died Thursday. Services were held this morning at the Gould Methodist Church and the Rev. Dee Willis officiated. Burial followed at the Gould Cemetery. Services were under the direction of Stewart Funeral Service of Hollis. He was born Dec. 3, 1934, in Gould to James Doyle and Maggie Mae McDaniel Jones. He attended Gould High School and was a member of the Gould Methodist Church. He served in the Army during the 1950s. He married Winonia (Nona) Hensley Oct. 17, 1986 in Wellington, Texas. He was a heavy equipment operator for Harmon County and also a woodworker, jewelry maker and a farmer. He lived most of his life at Gould. He is survived by his wife Nona of the home; daughter Cheryl Jones of Montrose, Calif.; two sons, Mark Jones and wife Barbara of Fontana, Calif. and Scott Jones of Case Grande, Ariz.; two sisters, Ada Miranda and husband Odell of Gould and Dene Jones and husband Garland of Hollis; three grandchildren, Aaron Cunningham and Michelle and Bridgett Jones. He was preceded in death by his mother in 1941 and his father in 1994. McLaughlin Teddie E. McLaughlin, 86, died Friday at her home in Hollis. Funeral services were set for this afternoon at the Gould Methodist Church with burial to follow at the Fairmount Cemetery in Hollis. Services were under the direction of Stewart Funeral Services of Hollis. She was born Oct. 4, 1915 to W.R. "Bob" and Bessie John Templeton. She married James McLaughlin in 1932. She was a member of the Baptist church. She worked the James Drive Inn in Hollis from 1949 until 1956. She owned the James Greenhouse for many years She worked at the flower shop for ten year and then sold it to her daughter and son-in-law, Mary and June Watson. She is survived by two daughters, Jane Stoddard of Hollis and Shirley Swaim and her husband Hulen, Amarillo, Texas; a son-in-law, June Watson of Hollis; five grandsons, Eddie Watson of Broken Arrow, Danny Watson of Hollis, Mike Swaim of Woodland, Texas, Mark Swaim of Amarillo, Texas and Randy Stoddard of Hollis; one granddaughter, Teddie Yowell of Hollis; seven great-granddaughters, eight great-grandsons and two great-great-granddaughters; three brothers, R.L. Templeton of Moore, Bobby Templeton of Hollis and Billy Templeton of Gilbreth, Ariz. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband James McLaughlin in 1980, daughter Mary Watson in 1998 and two brothers and three sisters. APRIL 9: Bailey Gladys E. Bailey, 86, died in San Antonio, Texas on Sunday. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Mayes Funeral Directors Chapel in Norman. Burial will follow at the Yukon Masonic Cemetery with Mayes Funeral Directors in charge of arrangements. She was born Jan. 8, 1916 in Medota, Mo. She was a graduate of Midwest High School in Midwest, Wyo. She married Richard T. Snow in 1938 at Douglas, Wyo. She was a business woman for many years, owning and operating the Jeep Army Store in Altus. She later worked in retail business until her retirement. She was a long time member of the Altus Business and Professional Women's Club. She is survived by two daughters, Kay Vaughan and husband Jim of San Antonio, Texas and Jeri Wesley of Omaha, Neb.; three granddaughters, Pamela Hyde, her husband Mark and their daughter Kelsey, Leslie McWhorter and her husband Mike and their two sons Bryce and Chad; and Shannon Maxey, her husband Kent and their children Madison and Mason. APRIL 10: Knox Memorial services for Elizabeth Beryl Knox, 74, Mountain Park, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in the Church of Christ with Johnathon Zerby, minister, officiating. She died Tuesday following a short illness. She was born March 22, 1928 in Santa Monica, Calif. to Robert and Ruth Huff. Her mother died when she was six months old. Her father then married Louise McPherson. She was raised in Beverly Hills and Los Angeles, Calif. She moved with her family to Hobart in August of 1947. She married Thomas Oliver Knox on Feb. 6, 1949. They lived in Hobart, Snyder, Dibble and Blanchard. Since 1966 they made their home in Mountain Park. She was a member of the Snyder Church of Christ. She worked 8-1/2 years for Southwestern Bell and later retired from Fort Sill. She was preceded in death by her parents, step-mother; a son, Michael Kelly Knox, and a great-granddaughter, McKenzie Robertson. Survivors include her husband of the home; three children and their spouses, Lisa and Stan Holland of Snyder, Lonnie and Lacy Knox of Mountain Park, Robert and Betsy Knox of Union, Mo.; a sister and brother-in-law, Roberta and Jerry Moad, Lakewood, Calif.; a brother and sister-in-law, William and Lynda Huff, Sun City, Ariz.; grandchildren, Brian Knox of Snyder, Kent Holland of Snyder, Shannon and Spencer Porter of Tipton, Lynsey and Joseph Robertson, Cory Knox, all of Oklahoma City and Tommy Knox, Union, Mo.; great-granddaughter, Makaila Robertson, Hobart. Services are pending with Lowell-Tims Funeral Home. APRIL 12: Abernathy Tommy Loys Fewell Abernathy, 85, died Thursday at Jackson County Memorial Hospital. Services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Joe Mac Floyd and Bob Maxey officiating. Interment will follow at the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home. The family will receive guests Friday from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home. She was born Jan. 31, 1917 near Portales, N.M. to Thomas David and Frances (McClure) Fewell. Her parents were pioneer settlers of Jackson County, but had moved to New Mexico for health reasons. They returned to Jackson County when Tommy was two years old and settled in the Duke community where she began the first grade and graduated in 1934. She attended Altus Junior College, as it was called at that time, and finished her degree at Southwestern Oklahoma State College. She later taught English and mathematics at Harmon, Martha and Ozark High Schools. In 1943, she and Raymond Abernathy were married and established a home in the Ozark community. They lived there for 52 years, before moving to Altus in 1995. She was a member of the Altus First Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for 35 years before retiring and joining the Priscilla Class in Adult VI. She was active in the Ozark Homemakers Club, and was Vice-President and President of the County Unit. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Ralph Fewell; two sisters, Robbie Bonds and Emma Madden, and a niece, Laveta Jo Bonds. Survivors include her husband Raymond; two sons and wives, John and Cindy Abernathy, Larry and Lynn Abernathy and one daughter and husband, Frances and Craig Sterling. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Larisa Weldon and husband Russell, Christy Lyles and husband Larry, Stacy Abernathy, Lyle Abernathy, Leigh Abernathy and Warren Sterling; two great-grandsons, Grayson and Peyton Weldon, and many nieces and nephew, including a special niece, Ethelene Brunson. APRIL 15: Hendricks Funeral services for Elizabeth Frances "Betty" Hendricks will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Bethel Hawley Baptist Church in Pond Creek with the Rev. Barry Worchester and the Rev. Gary Lillie officiating. Burial will be at the Hawley Cemetery under the direction of Wilson Funeral Home of Pond Creek. She was born Feb. 14, 1913 in Harper, Kan. to Jesse and Rose Fisher Murphy. She attended Harper Public Schools. She married Ira B. Hendricks on Feb. 28, 1931. They lived on a farm near Jefferson and then in the town of Jefferson until 1941. They moved to the Hendricks farm 11 miles southwest of Wakita and resided there until her husband died in 1975. She moved to Altus in 1976 to be near her daughter. She was a member of the First Christian Church, Altus. Survivors are one son, Monte of Enid; a daughter, Iris Felix, Altus; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ira, in 1975; three brothers and three sisters. Memorials may be made to the Hawley Fire Department or the charity of the donors choice. Sanford Viola Bessie Sanford, 79, Altus, died Saturday at Jackson County Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Lowell-Tims Funeral Home Chapel with Bill Osborne officiating. Interment will follow at the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home. She was born Nov. 5, 1922 at Roosevelt to Robert K. and Elizabeth Brooks. She had lived in Altus for the past 44 years after moving here from Russellville, Kent. She married Richard K. Sanford on May 17, 1944 in Lawton. She was a homemaker and a long time member of the Thomas Street Church of Christ. She is survived by her daughter, Beth Lopez and her husband Andy of Olustee; five grandchildren, Scott Valdez, Dallas, Texas, Tracey Ramirez and her husband, Ramiro of Altus, Misty Dawn Litton of Altus, Christopher Karl Litton and his wife, Shannon, Altus and Dakota Blaze Sanford. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Richard K. Sanford, one brother, Bud Brooks, one sister, Marie Davis, one son, Richard Karl Sanford, and a daughter, Rebecca Kay Sanford. Clayton, 67, Chickasha will be at 10 a.m. Monday in the Epworth United Methodist Church. The Rev. Larry Jacobson will officiate. Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday at the Riverside Cemetery in Mangum. The Rev. Elbert Shumaker will officiate. Vicki Y. Clayton, the daughter of Victor Yarberry and Edith Hoover Yarberry, was born on July 13, 1934 in Mangum. She died on Friday in Chickasha. She was reared in Mangum and attended Mangum High School where she graduated as valedictorian of the class of 1952. She then attended the University of Oklahoma and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in home economics. She continued her education at OU where she received a masters degree in early childhood education. She was a member of the Alpha Chi Omega sorority and Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society. She married Jack Clayton on Aug. 14, 1956 in Mangum and then moved to Chickasha. After moving to Chickasha, she taught kindergarten and first grade at Chickasha Public Schools. She taught in the Chickasha Public School system for 20 years. She also taught in other schools for six years. She also taught adult literacy. She married Randall Potter on Aug. 13, 1985. They attended Oklahoma State University and lived in Kingfisher. While living in Kingfisher, their sons Christopher and Adam were born. In 1986 the family moved for a short time just prior to Randall going to work for Caudill Seed Company in Granite. They established there home in the Beech Have area near Granite where she went to work for T-Netix at the Granite Reformatory where she worked with computers. She met and married Samuel LeRoy Stine in 1920 and they began a career in evangelistic music. They traveled extensively in the south. In 1937, she gave birth to their only child, Samuel LeRoy Stine, and they eventually settled in Altus in 1942. She was the high school band director for many years. Fletcher James Norman "Norm" Fletcher, 66, Woodward, died Thursday at his home following a long battle with cancer. He was born to Gilbert C. and Elsie Mae (Zachery) Fletcher on Sept. 22, 1935 at the family home east of Mangum. He was raised at Lake Creek, north of Granite. He graduated from Lake Creek High School. He joined the National Guard in 1958 and later went to work full time for the National Guard. He married Judy Barker on July 29, 1958 in Mangum. They lived in Altus before moving to Woodward in 1968 when he became the administrator of the National Guard Armory. He was a coach and was a member of the Governor's 20, a special rifle team representing the state of Oklahoma. He was a member of the Woodward Masonic Lodge number 189. He served as Worshipful Master and as secretary for the past 25 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church. He was also a member of the American Quarter Horse Association. APRIL 22: Hatcher Funeral services for Robert K. Hatcher, 85, Lawton, were held today at Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed at the Victory Cemetery. He died Saturday at a Lawton nursing center. He was born April 10, 1917 near Waurika to R.C. and Mable V. (King) Hatcher. He lived on a farm near Waurika until 1962. He joined the United States Army in August 1940 at Fort Sill. He was honorably discharged in November, 1945 in Arkansas. He moved to Lawton in 1962. He married Clara Stout on Jan. 20, 1962. She preceded him in death on July 3, 1999. He was a plumber. He was the plumbing supervisor for the City of Lawton until his retirement. She married Harvey Redelsperger on July 31, 1937 in Gould. He died on Feb. 16, 1995. They farmed for 50 years on land south of McQueen. She lived most of her life in Gould except for a five-year period in Shafter, Calif. She was a member of the Ladies Home Extension and the First Baptist Church of Gould where she taught Sunday School for many years. She was also active in WMU and Spanish Mission work. After retirement in 1985, she and her husband moved to Altus and were members of Emmanuel Baptist Church. Robinson, 94, of Gould died early today in the Harmony County Hospital. Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Gould Methodist Church with burial at the Gould Cemetery. She was born Jan. 30, 1908 in Pauls Valley to Robert and Susan Ellen (McFarland) Brewer. She married Lemuel Reed Morris in August, 1926. They spent the rest of their lives in Harmon County, farming west of Gould, and raising their family. She worked in the fields with her husband, fed harvest crews, tended to homemaking tasks and worked various jobs in Gould and Hollis. She loved gospel music and was an active singer with the Fourth Sunday Singing group, the Harmon County Singing Convention and the Gould Methodist Church where she was a member. Following the death of her first husband, Lem in July, 1961, she married Howard Robinson in October, 1963. She continued to help him on the farm until his death in December, 1972. Survivors include daughters Betty Jean Bullington of Gould and Tawana Sue and husband Thomas H. Temple, Jr. of San Antonio, Texas ; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren, many relatives and friends. APRIL 23: Lewis Ada E. Lewis, 93, Altus, died Saturday at Jackson County Memorial Hospital. Local arrangements are under the direction of the Kincannon Funeral Home. She was born May 16, 1908 in Colville, Wash. to Edward Francis and Ada (Smith) Hobbs. After graduating high school, she met and married Clarence Lewis in October of 1938 and they resided in California. They made their home in the Calimesa area and then in Yucaipa where they owned and operated a body shop in Riverside from 1977 until 1991. She enjoyed spending time with her family and spent her life caring for hers as a homemaker. She also enjoyed sewing, painting and traveling. She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Altus. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a grandson, a sister and a brother. She is survived by three daughters, Marjory McFall and husband, Lynden of Banning, Calif., Shirley Stuart of Huntington Beach, Calif. and Karen Pratt and husband, Dalton of Blair; three brothers, Edward Hobbs of Clovis, Calif., Smith Hobbs and wife, Betty of Sonora, Calif., Gene Hobbs of Fresno, Calif and a sister, Maida Young of Blossom, Texas. Redelsperger Alpha Myrl (Wade) Redelsperger died Saturday in Oklahoma City. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Emmanuel Baptist Church with the Rev. APRIL 24: Davis Kestle E. Davis, 81, Olustee, died Tuesday in Altus. Services are pending with Lowell-Tims Funeral Home. Mesa Services are pending at Kincannon Funeral Home for Socorio L. Mesa, 82 of Olustee. He died Wednesday at Comanche County Memorial Hospital. Robinson Tommy Robinson died Monday in Altus. Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday at the Lowell-Tims Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Doug Burr officiating. Interment will follow at the Fairmount Cemetery in Hollis under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home. He was born Jan. 31, 1930 at McQueen to Earl Cooper and Swilla Francis (Roberts) Robinson. He was a long time resident of Harmon County before moving to Altus in 1983. He served in the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged as a staff sergeant. He farmed most of his life in Harmon County. He married his wife Karen on March 8, 1983 in Las Vegas, Nev. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Elks Golf and Country Club. Survivors include his wife Karen Robinson of Altus; children Rodney Kent and Cindy Robinson of Chickasha, Pamela Jan Fancher of Las Cruces, N.M. and Thomas Ryan and Brooke Robinson of Plainview, Texas; five grandchildren, Whitney Jo and Tyler Hampton Robinson, Russell Alan and Heather Michelle Fancher and Kristyn Layne Robinson; eight sisters and one brother. APRIL 25: Click James "Boompa" Harley Click, formerly of Altus, died Wednesday. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Catalina United Methodist Church in Tucson, Ariz. He was born June 25, 1915 in Tuttle. After graduating from high school in 1933 at the age of 18, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and was stationed in Shanghai, China. He married Margaret Johnson in Lawton in 1942. He re-enlisted in the U.S. Army and spent time in Europe before being discharged in 1945. He became the owner of Jim Click Chevrolet in Altus and was one of the most successful car dealers in Oklahoma. He retired in 1985 and moved from Altus to Tucson. He postponed retirement to get involved in the used car business, which took him to all parts of the country. He worked for his son's business, Jim Click Chevrolet, as a used car consultant and auction buyer until a recent illness forced him to slow down. Survivors include two sisters, Carrie Lee Crites and Nancy Kinley and husband Gordon; a brother, Bert Click and wife Mary Eva of Tucson; children Janet Click Rutledge, James Harley Click, Jr. and wife Vicki, Jill King and husband Tom, Joey Click and wife Lalla; grandchildren Jim Click and Tracy Rutledge, Chris and Carrie Click, Justin, Anne and Johnson King, Cody and Caitlin Click. Services, under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home of Altus, are set for 2 p.m. Friday at the Olustee Methodist Church. The Rev. James Frank Mitchell will officiate and interment will follow at the Olustee Cemetery. The family will receive guests at the funeral home Thursday from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m. He was born in Sneedville, Tenn. on July 8, 1920, to Oscar and Cora Fergusen Davis. After graduation from high school he joined the United States Army. He served in the Army 29 years, retiring in 1973. After retirement he went to work in the Civil Service. He married Esther Barkau in September of 1980 at Olustee. They farmed outside of Olustee. He attended the Olustee Methodist Church and was active in the Lions Club. He enjoyed working his garden and was a Tennessee Volunteer football fan. He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Cora Davis; sister Marie Maples and bother Bernard Davis. Survivors include his wife Esther "Melinda" Davis of Olustee; daughter Ann Lane and her husband Bud of Knoxville, Tenn.; grandchildren George, Mike, Danny, Darin, Sue Gibson and Donna Harris, all of Knoxville, Tenn.; 16 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law Gladys, Leona and her husband Ralph Schrader; brother-in-law Roy Barkau and wife Janette; five nieces and nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends. Mesa, 82, Olustee, died early Wednesday at Comanche County Memorial Hospital in Lawton. Graveside services have been scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday at the Altus City Cemetery with the Rev. Lloyd Lopez officiating. Services are under the direction of the Kincannon Funeral Home. A prayer service will be held at 6 p.m. Friday at the chapel at Kincannon Funeral Home. He was born March 24, 1920, in Big Wells, Texas, to Carlos and Dolores (Lopez) Mesa. After graduating high school, he served five years in World War II in the United States Army. He worked for 26 years at Western Steel Mill in Sterling, Ill. before his retirement. He married Paula Alaniz on Jan. 21, 1988 in Vernon, Texas. He enjoyed gardening and especially planting flowers. He was an avid sports fan and his favorite was baseball. He once coached a women's league softball team. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and a sister. He is survived by his wife Paula of the home; daughters Lupe Biones of Altus and Mary Garcia of Olustee; son Robert Mesa of South Haven, Mich.; six step-daughters, Ruth Benitez of Altus, Mary Ann Reyes of Olustee, Esther Huerta of Altus, Naomi Garcia of Olustee, Lydia Reynolds of De Reeder, La. and Deborah Nunez of Altus; one step-son, Seth Lopez; three brothers, Steven Mesa and Thomas Mesa, both of Illinois, and Antonio Mesa of Big Wells, Texas; a sister, Eluteria Montes of Big Wells, Texas; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, sons and daughters-in-law, several nieces and nephews and many friends. Schlecht Laura Jane Schlect, 93, Ardmore died Wednesday at Woodview Nursing Home in Ardmore. Graveside services are scheduled for Saturday at the Restlawn Cemetery with Sonny Tims officiating. She was born May 1, 1908 in Wise County, Texas to James Richard and Hattie Mae (King) Pounds. She married Albert John Schlecht on Sept. 23, 1926 in Sayre. She worked for the civil service at Altus Air Force Base until her retirement. She enjoyed ceramics, quilting and spending time with her family. She was a member of First Baptist Church and the Rebekah Lodge in Altus. She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, one sister, husband and one son. She is survived by son Robert James and wife Joyce of Madill; three granddaughters, Shirley Conner and husband Loyd of Blair, LaQuita Blankenship and husband Hank of Centralia, Mo. and Brenda Steely of Ardmore; two great granddaughters, two great-grandsons, one great-great-grandson and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Church of Christ in Eldorado with Bill Osborne officiating. Burial will follow at the Eldorado Cemetery under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home. He was born June 10, 1925 to W.L. and Gladys (Edwards) Helms in Eldorado. He attended Eldorado schools and graduated from Eldorado High School in 1943, then attended Panhandle State College in Goodwell. He enlisted in the United States Army on May 20, 1945. He was discharged in December of 1946 having obtained the rank of Corporal. He worked as an oil field supervisor for the Western Company of North America for more than 33 years until his retirement. He was a member of the Eldorado Church of Christ and enjoyed stained glass as a hobby. He also enjoyed yard work and taking care of his house and talking with his friends in Eldorado. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Pauline Matthews, his parents and a sister, Louise Rains. He is survived by his wife Audean of the home in Eldorado; three daughters, Sharon Haynes, Stephenville, Texas, Kathy Frick, Plymouth, Minn., Vicki Harkins Graham, Mt. Holly, N.J.; three sons, L.W. (Billy) Helms, Midland, Texas, Bruce Harkins, Kansas City, Kan. and Joe Harkins, Altus; ten grandchildren; one great-granddaughter and many friends. Messick Laura Mae Messick, 81, died Friday at Jackson County Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday at the Kincannon Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Sherman Mullis officiating. Burial will follow at the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home. She was born June 18, 1920 to Dee and Lucy (Ferris) Allred in Snyder. She married Elzia Messick April 13, 1940, in Cold Springs. She was a life long resident of Jackson County. She was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking and helping others. She was member of the New Life Fellowship Pentecostal Church in Altus. She was preceded in death by her husband Elzia; son Darrell Messic; two brothers, Curtis Allred, Rowland; Marvin (Mack) Allred, Altus; nine grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren and many friends. Stehr Charlene Ray Stehr, 61, Granite, died on Wednesday in Oklahoma City. She had been in declining health for a year with a liver disease. Services were held Saturday afternoon at the First Baptist Church in Granite. The Rev. Arol Steverson and the Rev Ben VanVacter officiated. Burial was to follow at the Granite City Cemetery. Greer Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. She was born Feb. 10, 1941 in Sparta, Ill. to Charles and Myrtle Thornberg (Fraizer) Rains. She grew up and attended school in Dupo, Ill. After graduating from high school she attended a Jewish Nursing School in St. Louis, Mo graduating in 1962. She married Charles Fred Stehr on Dec. 19, 1964. They moved to Council Bluffs, Iowa and resided there from 1967 until 1972. They then moved to Walnut, Iowa, residing there until 1976. At that time they moved to Cuttler, Ill. residing there until 1983. They had lived in Granite since 1983. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Granite. She worked in the health care industry. At the time of her death she was a case manager for Gantiva Health Services. She enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren, yard sales, antique stores and cooking. She was preceded in death by her parents and a half brother, Charles Howard Rains, Jr.. She is survived by her husband Charles Fred Stehr of Granite, son Charles Edward Stehr and his wife Valerie Joan; five grandchildren, Andrew G. Johnson, Karl R. Stehr, Jimmy D. Stehr, Brittney Bettsinger and Courtney Bettsinger and two brothers, Robert and Claude E. Rains. Wright Lorene Wright, 87, died Thursday at Jackson County Memorial Hospital in Altus. She married Walter Wright on Nov. 8, 1930 at Elmore City. He preceded her in death on Nov. 11, 1972. She was a homemaker and long-time member of the Warren Baptist Church. She lived in Warren most of her life and was an active member of the community. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, quilting, and spending time with her many grandchildren. Survivors include three children, Kenneth Wright and his wife Atha of Warren, Arlene Weaver and her husband Tom of Duncan, and Farrell Wright and his wife Wanda of Fort Worth; three half-sisters, Elsie Smith of Texas, Earline Clemments of Texas, and Betty Tidmore of Texas; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; three step-great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three siblings, Ben Warren, Pauline Cook and Opal Jackson; and a half-brother, J.T. Warren. She was born Nov. 11, 1927, in ScottsBluff, Neb. She was a lifelong resident of Lawton. She was active with the Daughters of the American Revolution and attended the Lawton Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Fred Meeks in August of 1982. Splawn Roy Lee Splawn, 61, died Sunday in Altus. Graveside services were scheduled for 2:30 p.m. today at the Fairview Cemetery in Clarksville, Texas with Brother Mark Hamill officiating. Services are under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home. He was born Dec. 18, 1940 in Mangum to J.F. "Doc" and Ruth (Sisson) Splawn. He moved from Mangum to Clarksville, Texas in 1972. He was Protestant and was a member of the Texas Army National Guard at the Mangum Armory. He retired from the Magnolia Brush Company. Survivors include two sons, Shaun Splawn and Shane Splawn, both of Clarksville, Texas; a brother, Charles Splawn and his wife Brenda, of Roulette, Texas; an aunt, Gertie St. Clair of Detroy, Texas; two nephews, Jarrod Splawn and Chad Splawn; two great-nephews, Brent Splawn and Cade Splawn; and other relatives and friends.
