Brown, a longtime Tulsa certified accountant, retired Navy commander and former Jackson County resident died recently. He was 75. Memorials services were held at the Boston Avenue United Methodist Church under the direction of Stanleys Funeral Service. He was born in Martha and graduated as the salutatorian of his high school class. He also graduated with honors from the University of Oklahoma and the University of Tulsa.. He was a retired commander in he Navy Reserve and served aboard the USS Bismark Sea, the last aircraft carrier to be sunk during World War II. It sank in the battle of Iwo Jima. He had a long career as an accountant, first as a partner in the firm of Eberhart and Brown. Later, he founded Roy G. Brown Inc. He was inducted into the Oklahoma CPA Hall of Fame. He was president of the Tulsa Chapter of CPAs and state president of CPAs. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Twila Brown; a son, mark Brown of Fort Worth, Texas and three grandchildren. Friends are contributing to the Boston Avenue United Methodist Church. Chapman Sylvia Odean Chapman, 70, of Hobart died Wednesday at her home. Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday at the Peoples Cooperative Funeral Home Chapel in Lone Wolf with the Rev. Billy Ray Hudson officiating. Burial will follow at the Retrop Cemetery under the direction of Peoples Funeral Home of Lone Wolf. She was born Nov. 20, 1931 in Carter to Elmer Lewis and Lillie May (Aston) Beach. She married Truman Chapman July 7, 1949 in Sayre. She was a housewife and enjoyed gardening, cooking, fishing, hunting and watching humming birds. She was a member of the Trinity Holiness Church of Blair. She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Lillie May; a son, Kenneth Dwayne Chapman and two great grandchildren. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Truman; two sons, Marvin Ray Chapman and wife, Ruby of Mountain View and Truman George Chapman, Jr. and wife Mandy of Nowata; two daughters, Peggy Joyce Edwards and husband, Larry of Blair and Deborah Mae Hooker of Albuquerque, N.M. a brother, Elmer Dennis Beach and wife, Tanya of Welch; a sister, Nora Lee Champan and husband, Tommy, of Blair; 16 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. Leese Billy Ray Leese, 75, former Eldorado resident, died Thursday at his home in the Lake Arrowhead Community near Wichita Falls, Texas. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at the Eldorado Cemetery with Bill Osborne officiating under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home. He was born Jan. 16, 926 in Quanah, Texas to Raymond and Floy (Richardson) Leese. He graduated from Quanah High School in Quanah, Texas. He also attended Abilene Christian College in Abilene, Texas. He married Ouida Turner Oct. 11, 1947 in Chillicothe, Texas. He served during World War II with the United States Marines. He was self employed most of his life, owning and operating several cattle auctions. He was a member of the Church of Christ and enjoyed quail hunting and spending time with friends and family. He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Leese. He is survived by his mother, Floy Garrison; two daughters, Cathy McLeod and Carol Middleton; a son, Robert Leese and a sister, Mary Anne White. Ritchie Services for Jimmie Ritchie, Altus, are pending with Lowell-Tims Funeral Home. Roberts Joey Roberts, 25, Altus, died Nov. 30, 2001. Funeral services are set for Tuesday, Dec. 4 at 2 p.m. in the Lowell-Tims Funeral Home Chapel with Sonny Tims and Morris Speck officiating. Interment will follow in the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home. Roberts graduated from Altus High School in 1994. He worked for Brewer's Auto Supply for three years. Some of his favorite pastimes were camping and fishing. He attended the First Baptist Church in Altus. He is survived by her parents, Everett and Mona Roberts, Altus; one daughter Tristyn A. Roberts; grandparents E.G. and Fay Roberts and Jerry and Lillie Carney, all of Amarillo, Texas. He is also survived by the mother of Trystyn, Julie DuBois; two uncles Jerry Carney, Jr. of Amarillo and Billy Carney of Duncan; three aunts Diana Wieck of Dawn, Texas, Brenda Budd of Amarillo, and Margie Carney of Amarillo. Rowland B.F. "Row" Rowland, 83, longtime Altus resident, died Nov. 29, 2001 at Baptist Hospital in Oklahoma City. Funeral services will be Dec. 3 at 2:30 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Altus with Rev. James Mahan officiating. Interment will follow at the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home. He was born July 13, 1918 in Weber, Arkansas to Raymond Henry and Pauline (Claycomb) Rowland. He attended Tichnor, Arkansas Schools, A&E School in the Army Air Corps and completed welding/auto mechanic vo-tech certification. He served from 1942 to 1945 in the U.S. Army Air Corps as a crew chief in the B26 Training Command during WWII. He had obtained the rank of Corporal. He married Mable Talley May 7, 1945 in Altus. He started his auto mechanic career in Altus in 1945. He established Rowland's Auto Service in 1957 and had been self employed ever since. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Altus and was baptized in 1959. He was also a member of the Disabled American Veterans and the American Legion. He was a life member of the Altus Masonic Lodge #62, a life member of the Guthrie Scottish Rite, a Shriner and the AA. He enjoyed music, playing the steel guitar, flying and spending time with his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters Daphne, Lila Mae and Juanita; and one grandson Wade Crossland. Survivors include his wife Mable; two daughters Daphne Crossland, Altus, and Tamye Hurley and husband Mike of Altus; five sons and daughters-in-law B.F. Rowland, Jr. and wife Marcia of Altus; Jasper and Shirley Rowland, Altus; Lynn and Pat Rowland, Altus; Steve and Barbie Rowland, Altus; Ronald Rowland, Garden City, KS; a brother-in-law Bill Hubbard, Nashville, TN; twelve grandchildren and their spouses Casey and Donna Rowland, Choctaw; Cindy and Steve Wilson, Altus; Mike and Katrina Crossland, Altus; Mary Lea Rowland, Norman; Rashell and Rhet Johnson, Duke; Tyson Rowland, Altus; Jeff and Mickey Rowland, Edmond; Blair Abernethy, Altus; Blake Rowland, Altus; Forrest Weathers, Altus; Shawnna and Jeremy Pence, Altus; Jay Hurley, San Antonio, Texas; 11 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren and many friends. Winters Doris Waunelle "Mama Doe" Winters, 81, died Nov. 30, 2001 in Blair. Services will be Dec. 3 at 2 p.m. at the Lowell-Tims Chapel with Ardron Hinton and Joe Waugh officiating. Interment will follow at the Blair Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at Lowell-Tims Sunday, Dec. 2 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. She was the daughter of the late Robert L. and Myrtle Lillie (Woodall) Shaw. She married Thomas Bert "Tink" Winters Sept. 27, 1945 in Vernon, Texas. He preceded her in death Dec. 24, 1997. She was a life-long resident of Blair and Jackson County and a life-long member of the Church of Christ in Blair. Her greatest love was her family and doing things for her children and grandchildren. She was a wonderful cook and was well known for her delicious fudge. She was happy and loved doing things for others and was an avid fisherman. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four brothers M.D. Shaw, Ralph Shaw, Leonard Shaw and Loyd Shaw. Survivors include two sons Tommy Winters and Terry Winters of Blair; daughter Sonya Tutten of Blair; six grandchildren Tera Dudley and husband John of Tipton, Shea Lynn Hollen and Willy of Oklahoma City; Tim Winters of Blair, Jeff Winters of Weatherford, Tammy Philo and Spencer of Billings, Montana, and Dusty Tutten and Heather of Blair. She is also survived by six great grandchildren Ian Graham, Tieran Graham, Trey Dudley, Bently Philo, Ali Jo Tutten and Rhett Tutten; one sister Corinne Knight of Mangum and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Memorials in honor of Doris Winters may be made to the Blair Cemetery Association at the Peoples State Bank in Blair.
