Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Stewart Funeral Chapel in Mangum with the Rev. Samuel Studer officiating. Internment will follow at Roselawn Cemetery. Stewart Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements. He was born Sept. 3, 1949, in Altus to Wyndle "Bo" and Norma Joyce Sullivan Duffer. He graduated from high school and attended college at Greenville, Texas. He spent four years in the military and lived in Mangum approximately 30 years. He was an interior painter and finisher, and he was an artist who enjoyed oil painting. He was preceded in death by two sons, Nathan Wayne and Matthew Duffer. He is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Salah Beth and David Deas of Granite; his parents, Wyndle "Bo" and Joyce Duffer of Mangum; a brother and sister-in-law, Ronald and Pam Duffer of Grapevine, Texas; one sister and brother-in-law, Patsy and Phil Colson of Mangum; one granddaughter, Hanna Michelle Deas; and five nephews and two nieces. She was preceded in death by her mother, Annie Hall, and a sister, Paula Hall. Robinson William James Robinson, 26, died Tuesday at Northwest Hospital in Amarillo, Texa,s after a battle with lupus. Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Babers Temple with the Rev. He was born January 8, 1975, in Hollis to Patricia Ann Robinson and Fred Dickson. He attended Hollis Public School System. He was raised by his grandmother, Sister Mary O'Neal, of Hollis. He attened Babers Temple where he loved to sing. His favorite song was "The Rough Side of the the Mountain." He was a caring person and liked to make others laugh. He was preceded in death by great-grandparents, Irene and Wade Coleman; grandparents, Little Dew and A.D. Dickson; and a grandmother, Florence Smith. He is survived by his grandmother, Mary O'Neal; his parents, Fred Dickson and Patricia Robinson Jackson, both of Texas; one sister, Barbara Dickson of Amarillo; and many uncles, aunts, cousins and friends. Smith Lottie Smith, 87, Altus, died Thursday at Baptist Hospital in Oklahoma City. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Altus Cemetery under the direction of People's Cooperative Funeral Home of Lone Wolf with Rev. J.V. Oden officiating. She was born August 17, 1914, near Ada, the fifth child of John T. and Wilma Provence. She graduated from Altus High School and later received her assoicates degree from Altus Junior College. In 1926, the family moved their farming operation east of Altus, current site of Altus Air Force Base. On October 15, 1940, she married Wallace Smith in Mangum. Their children are Troy Gene Smith of Pocasset, Anita Palmer of Olney, Texas, and Mary Perry of Enid. She worked as a dental assistant to Dr. Alva Hill. She also worked with her husband in his shop, Smith Lock & Key. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, a charter member of Altus Business and Professional Women and The Home Demonstration Club. She was born July 9, 1925 at McAllen, Texas to Jessie and Ramona (Rios) Guerra. She married her childhood sweetheart Marcelo Avila on June 26, 1940 in McAllen, Texas. She was a member of the Pentecostal Church of Altus where she helped with Christmas plays and church activities. She loved cooking, cleaning, traveling and watching the humming birds. She spent the last 33 years of her life with her companion, Ruperto Rosalez. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marcelo Avila, both parents, and an infant daughter. He was born Sept. 19, 1946 at Altus, to Clarence "Elby" and Ruby (Davis) Moore. He was raised at Russell and attained his bachelor's degree before coaching basketball at Blair, Fletcher and Seiling. He later worked in the automobile sales business as a sales manager. He married Frances Gray on Oct. 31, 1988. He was born Oct. 19, 1935 at Humphreys to Robert C. and Ruth (Gray) Southall. He married his wife, Ida Jo Aug. 29, 1959 at the First United Methodist Church of Altus. After graduating from high school he attended Oklahoma State University He then served in the United States Navy from 1955 until 1958. He was a business entreprenuer, which included real estate and farming. He was a life long resident of Altus and Jackson County. He served on the Jackson County Excise Board, and was the owner of the first cotton module builder in this region. He was named Outstanding Young Farmer in 1968 by the Altus Jaycees, was a member of the Altus Rotary Club and a 32nd degree Mason. He was the salutatorian of Humphreys High School in 1953. He was appointed to the Oklahoma State Transportation Commission by Governor David Boren. He was also appointed to the United States Cotton Council by President Jimmy Carter. He was a member of the Oklahoma State ASCS Committee. He was named Realtor of the Year in 1989, served as President of the Altus Board of Realtors and was a member of the First United Methodist Church. She helped her husband establish several churches in southwest Oklahoma. She was a member of the Trinity Baptist Church of Altus. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son, Leland Mack Abercrombie, in October of 1981; two brothers, Joe Erwin and Eddie Erwin; two sisters, Ruth Erwin Duncan and Stella Erwin Shelton. She also was the owner of a beautician business. She was a volunteer at the Church Boutique at University View Christian Church, The American Heart Association and the Denver Blood Bank. She was president of Business Professional Women in Altus and Chairwoman of the Telephone Operators union. She was preceded in death by her husband , Layton D. Brown on July 28, 1995. She attended Metcalf and Gould Schools. She married Tommie Williams in 1929 in Russell. He preceded her in death in October of 1967. She was a nurse for more than 22 years in Ardmore, Hollis and Altus. In December of 1985 she married Herbert Wing, who preceded her in death in June of 1999. She had been a member of the First Baptist Church of Blair for several years and was currently a member of the First Baptist Church in Morrilton. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, crafts, cooking and spending time with her children. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; 12 brothers and sisters. She was a member of the Elm and Hudson Church, and was a past member of Woodmen of the World. She enjoyed farming for more than 57 years. NOV. 13 EDITION: Aboussie Emily Massad Aboussie passed away Saturday in Altus. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. John's Episcopal Church in Norman. Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday at the Altus City Cemetery. She was born May 10 1910 to M.K. and Melia Massad in Drumright. She married Sam E. Aboussie on July 4, 1931. He died on April 23, 1985. They lived in Blair until 1940 when they moved to Altus. Together they owned and operated Sharon's, a ladies apparel store. They opened their home to many servicemen and women who were stationed Altus Air Force Base during World War II. Following their retirement in 1973 they spent much of their time traveling to many parts of the world. She is survived by her daughter, Jacque and husband, Ted Webb; a son, Sam Aboussie Jr.; grandson, Ameil Shadid; sisters, Marie Aboussie, Negla and husband, Leonard Heilman, Virginia Naifeh; brother, George K. Massad and wife, Linda; brother-in-law, Fred Raizk, Sr., and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Ameil; daughter, Sharon Shadid, granddaughter, Rebecca Ann Shadid, sisters, Penny Massad and Wadad Raizk and sister-in-law, Fedwa Kouri. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Tabernacle Baptist Church of Altus with the Rev. Dave Chittenden officiating. Burial will follow at the Victory Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home. She was born Dec. 1, 1909 in Rhonesboro, Texas to Theophilus Abraham James and Ada Belle (Barton) James. She married Johnnie Lee Doyle Nov. 13, 1925. He died Nov. 25, 1982. She lived in Altus from 1925 until 1983. She then moved to Moore where she lived until Nov. 5, 2001. She then moved to Burkburnett, Texas to be closer to her family. She was a long time member of the Tabernacle Baptist Church of Altus. She enjoyed playing dominoes, traveling, and cooking chocolate pies and chicken for her family. She is survived by two daughters, Mildred Doyle of Burkburnett and Faye Ackerson of Wichita Falls; six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. Perdue Ruth Perdue, 102 passed away Nov. 5 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital in Altus. Services were held Nov. 8 and burial followed at the Liberty Cemetery , south of Gould. Stewart Funeral Service of Hollis handled the arrangements. She was born July 29, 1899 in Shive, Texas to Adolphus Baxter Foreman and Mary Elizabeth Henderson Foreman. She married James Elmer Perdue on Jan. 29, 1921 in Gould. She was a housewife and worked on the family farm with her husband. She moved from Shive, Texas to Tolar, N. M. in 1908, and later moved to McQueen in 1917. She lived in the McQueen and Gould area for the rest of her life. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Gould. She is survived by her son, Grady Perdue of Oklahoma City; daughter, Willodene Freville; a grandson, Marlon Burns; three granddaughters, Cindy Williams, Tara Perdue, and Toni Perdue; and a great-granddaughter, Michelle Arizola. She was preceded in death by her parents, Adolphus and Mary Elizabeth and by her husband, James. Willis Bernice Willis passed away Saturday at Altus. She was a member of the Elm and Hudson Church, and was a past member of Woodmen of the World. She enjoyed farming for more than 57 years. Leese Billy Ray Leese, 75, former Eldorado resident, died Tuesday at his home in the Lake Arrowhead Community near Wichita Falls, Texas. Funeral services are pending with Kincannon Funeral Home. Patterson Dale Kendall Patterson was born June 24, 1935 in Blair, OK, to Ben and Nevada Lockname Patterson. He passed away on Thursday, in Dallas, Texas. He was graduated from Altus High School in Altus, OK, from the University of Oklahoma with a BA degree in journalism, and from the University of Wisconsin with MA degrees in journalism and political science. He was a member of NROTC at OU, and upon graduation, was commissioned an Ensign in the U.S. Navy and subsequently attained the rank of captain, retiring from active duty in 1986. As a distinguished public affairs officer his assignments included communications and public affairs officer on the USS Boxer and USS Kearsarge, the television and press Officer for the Navy Department's Chief of Information in the Pentagon, Public Affairs Officer for the U.S. Naval Support Activity in Naples, Italy and for Commander Second Fleet. In 1966, he served as Assistant Public Affairs Officer for Commander, U.S. Military Assistance Command. Thailand. His combat assignments were Public Affairs Officer for both Commander, U.S. Naval Forces and Commander, U.S. Naval Advisory Group in the Republic of Vietnam, and the Public Affairs Officer for Commander U.S. Seventh Fleet aboard the flagship USS Oklahoma City, based in Japan. In 1973, he established and served as the first Director of the Navy Information Office in Dallas, where he met and married Carol Anne Blandford of Dallas. Subsequently, he was the Public Affairs Officer to the staff to the Commander in Chief, U.S. Pacific Fleet, headquartered at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. He, then, was assigned Director of the Navy Information Office, Los Angeles, where he assisted with Hollywood productions for TV mini-series and big screen productions. He was selected as Deputy Chief of Information for the Navy in June, 1982, and was headquartered in the Pentagon. Remaining in Washington, he served as a Senior Fellow at the National Defense University, class of 1985, while simultaneously attending the National War College. His final assignment before retiring from the Navy, was as Commander/Editior-in-Chief Stars and Stripes, Europe, located in Darmstadt, Germany. During his distinguished Naval career, he was awarded the Legion of Merit, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Navy Commendation Medal, with 2 silver stars and combat ėVî, the Combat Action Ribbon, Navy Unit Commendation, Meritorious Unit Commendation, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal and numerous other service decorations. Following his Navy retirement, he served as a Navy/Defense Department consultant for a host of Hollywood productions, including TV and movie productions. In 1995, Captain Patterson received the Distinguished Alumni Award from the School of Journalism and Mass Communications, University of Oklahoma. Since retirement, he has resided in Dallas, Texas. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Duane Keith Patterson and wife, Kim, of Harrah, daughter, Amy Elizabeth Patterson Leonard and husband, Jeff, of Carrollton, Texas, granddaughter Megan Lea Patterson of Harrah, sister Pat Flippin of Norman, brother Jim Patterson and wife, Wanda, of Guthrie. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Hess. He is survived by two daughters, Bobbie Varney of Enid and Kay Miller of Protection, Kan and a son, Merle Sherman of Ardmore; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.
