He was born Feb. 21, 1942 in Altus to Howard and Opal (Hughes) Evans. He graduated from Martha High School an attended Southwestern State College in Weatherford. He married Shirley Allen Oct. 14, 1961 in Martha. He worked for the State of Oklahoma Tourism Department and retired in 1996 after 15 years of service. He was a member of the Altus Masonic Lodge and enjoyed hunting, fishing and motorcycles. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Wyndell Evans. He is survived by his wife, Shirley; a daughter and son-in-law, Sheila and Kyle Boaldin, Altus; a granddaughter, Blake Boaldin, Altus; a brother, Lyndell Evans, Altus, Altus and many friends. Hudson Ruby Lenore Hudson, 91, Fairland, died Friday. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Community of Christ Church at the corner of B.J. Tunnel Blvd. and E. Street Northeast, Miami. Pastor Rick Adams and Elder Bill Lewis will officiate. Burial will be at the Fairland Cemetery. Services are under the direction of the Cooper-Althouse Funeral Home, Miami. She was born Aug. 8, 1910 on a rural farm near Andrews, N.C. to Charles and Bertha (Robinson) Parker. She moved to Grove near the age of ten, where she attended and graduated from Grove public schools. She later worked for a small railroad in the Miami-Picher area for several years. She married Alby Hudson May 22, 1948. They moved to Granby to be with their daughter in 1981. She was a member of the Community of Christ Church, Miami. She is survived by one daughter, Carol Ryan of Granby; a son Gary Hudson of Lowell, Ark.; a brother, Charles Parker of Miami; a sister, Vanoy Prather of Altus; five grandchildren; many nieces nephews and other family members. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1984 and a brother, Fred Parker in 1974. Stiles Funeral services for Oleta Fae Stiles, 82, Snyder, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Snyder Church of Christ with C.W. Kidwell , Church of Christ minister and Jonathan Zerby, Minister of the Snyder Church of Christ officiating. She died Friday at a Snyder Nursing Home. Burial will be at the Fairlawn Cemetery, Snyder, under the direction of Becker Funeral Home of Snyder. She was born march 29, 1919, at Otter Creek Community, Tillman County to James Lewis Stiles and Mary Elizabeth Reed Stiles. She attended school in the Otter Creek district in Tillman County and graduated from Lane High School. She attended Draughn's Business School and played professional softball. During World War II, she worked at an airplane manufacturing plant in Memphis, Tenn. After graduating from business school, she worked at The Bank of Wichita's for 45 years before retiring in 1988. She served the Snyder Public Schools as treasurer for many years. She coached Outside Women's Basketball, and was active with The American Cancer Society. She was member of the Snyder Bass Club., The Sports Bass Association Couples, Bass-n-Gals of Snyder. She was a member of the American Legion Post 118 in Snyder, and was a member of the Church of Christ. Survivors include several nieces, nephews and other relatives plus two friends Jauntier McKinney and Margaret Clevenger both of Snyder. She was preceded in death by six brothers and five sisters. "Mutt" Johnson on Jan. 18, 10939. He preceded her in death on Jan. 11, 1991. She was a former Vinita resident and was employed with the state and Craig County Hospital as a nurses aid for many years. She was a member of the Bunker Hill Baptist Church. After her retirement she moved to Lone Wolf to be with her daughter. She is survived by her daughter, Doris Gilreath of Lone Wolf, three brothers, Herman Klein of Santa Rosa, Calif., Carl Klein of Tacoma, Wash and Raymond Klein of Baxter Springs, Kan.; a sister, Edna Eubanks of Leesville, La. and by three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He served on the board of directors of Farmers and Merchants Bank of Duke, was active at the First Baptist Church and was on the board of directors of the Jackson County Conservation District. He was a member of the Oklahoma and Kansas Cattlemans Association, a past board member of the Rock Cemetery of Duke, and a member of the Duke Farm Center Board of Directors. He was a past member of the Duke Farmer Coop and Elevator and was a member of the Texas Wildlife Association. She grew up in Roosevelt and Lawton. She married Jackson B. Davis in Lawton on Sept. 17, 1938 and they made their home in Lawton. They later moved to Altus and then to Martha. After retirement they moved to Swan Lake. She was a member of the Thomas Street Church of Christ of Altus and was active in church activities. She was an history buff and was very knowledgeable of Quanah Parker and southwest Oklahoma. `She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Elizabeth Brooks; her mother, Annie Perch Wich; brothers, Carl Brooks, Robert Lee Vowell, Sr., Christopher Wich, Sr., Henry Burton Wich, Sr., Clifford Maupin, Wich.; a sister, Pearline Wich and a great-grandchild, Garret Walker. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors. She was born in Elmer and was a long time resident of Altus and Lawton before moving to Amarillo in February of 1982. She was a homemaker. She married Jewett E. Huff on Feb. 2, 1929 at Altus. He preceded her in death on May 13 of this year. Four infants also preceded her in death. Survivors include a daughter, Judith Gilbert of Amarillo; two sons, Glen D. Huff of Oklahoma City and Jewett E. McDowell Alice McDowell, 93, died Sept. 30 in Richmond, Ky.. Burial was Oct. 6 in Norman. She was the youngest child of Eli D. and Mary Alexander who came from Indiana to Oklahoma in 1908 settling on a farm southeast of Altus. She was a 1923 graduate of Altus High School and an accomplished pianist. She taught school at Elmer and Mountain Park. In 1927, she married Carl A. McDowell who she had met at Oklahoma A&M College. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers, Everett, Theo and Ernest Alexander; sisters, Mamie Alexander, Leona Parks, Lucy Northington, and Rob Walls. He married Lois Roberts June 8, 1932 in Rock Springs. He owned and operated the Piggly Wiggly Grocery Store in Senora, Texas for 23 years. He also owned the Sonora Locker Plant and was a rancher in Hamilton County in central Texas for several years. In 1962, they moved to Tipton where he developed Lomax Housing Addition and was a builder and contractor. He had a great love for the Tipton Home and after retirement labored many hours remodeling the kitchens in the cottages there. His wife, preceded him in death on Sept. 27, 1987. He later married Irene Dudley on Dec. 27, 1989 in Tipton. She died April 24, 1992. He then married Amy Trent Reiter July 3, 1992. He was a member of the Church of Christ of Tipton. Loudakis John Emmanuel "Jack" Loudakis, Sr., of West Columbia, Texas formerly of Mangum passed away Thursday at the age of 66. Jerry Adelman of Dallas, Texas, passed away Oct. 16, 2001. He was born June 4, 1935, in Sauk Rapids, Minn. He moved to Oklahoma with his parents when he was a teenager. He joined the United States Navy in 1952 during the Korean War. One of his proudest tours was as a Machinist Mate First Class on the USS Tanawa in Yokosuka, Japan, in 1954. Jerry was the youngest sailor on his aircraft carrier to receive that ranking. After his tour in the Navy, he served in the Oklahoma Army National Guard as Sergeant First Class in the Combat Support Company First Battalion 279th Infantry. Jerry and Pat Hamilton were married on Dec. 28, 1962, in Altus. He was employed with the U.S. Postal Service for more than 33 years. Jerry loved serving his family, friends, neighbors and his two Yorkies, Precious and Mo. He said that was his "calling." Jerry never met a stranger and always had a positive outlook on life. He began each day by saying it was a great day to be alive. He had various interests which included his favorite hobbies of playing the steel guitar, camping and reading. He was also a member of the National Rifle Association. He was baptized in the Park Lane Church of Christ in Altus in 1962. He was preceded in death by his father, Elmer Adelman, in 1989, and his mother, Marge Wilson, in 1992. Huff Ima Jean Huff, formerly of Altus died Thursday in Amarillo, Texas. Services were held this afternoon at the First Baptist Church of Amarillo. Burial was at Llano East Cemetery. She was born Aug. 4, 1931 in Martha to Velma Irene (Sansom) Collins and Rufus Brownlow Collins. She attended public schools in Altus and graduated from Altus High School in 1949. She attended Oklahoma College for Women in Chickasha and the University of Oklahoma. She was part owner, chief pilot and manager of Llano Aviation, a flight school, rental and charter operation. She was later manager of the flight department and chief pilot for Tradewind Airport flight department, also a flight school, rental and charter operation. She later operated the flight school, rental and charter operations for Chaparral. She and her co-pilot, Chris McClain, twice flew the Powder Puff Derby, the famous transcontinental air race for women pilots. Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Anna is in charge of the arrangements, Local arrangements are under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home. He was born June 10, 1947 in Anna to Sherman Lee and Pearl Ollie Sims Forehand. He married Judith Blaney in 1965 and she preceded him in death on April 23, 1997. He married Dee Jay Powell Aug. 20, 1998 in Las Vegas. Survivors include his wife, Dee Jay of Altus; a son, Derrick Forehand of Sacramento, Calif.; one daughter, Angela Chandler of Altus; a step-son, A.J. Powell of Altus; a step-daughter, Heather Powell of Altus; a brother, Charles Thomas of Waynesburg, Pa. and one sister, Martha Furlow of Cobden; three grandchildren, Dustin Chandler, Brittany Chandler and Katelyn Chandler and other relatives. He was a retired Flight Simulator Maintenance Manager with the United States Air Force. He retired in 1989. He was a graduate of the A-J CHS, class of 1965. Nielsen Carrie L. Neilson died Friday at Sunnyside Rest Home in Salem, Ore. She was born Feb. 16, 1911 in Helena, Mont. and raised on a ranch in the Dearborn country northwest of Helena. She attended schools in both Helena and Butte, Mont. She married A.L. "Ace" Neilson July 3, 1930. They lived in Helena until 1942 when they moved to the ranch until their retirement. They relocated to Bigfork, Mont. and Mesa, Ariz. for their retirement years. She moved to Salem, Oregon in 1992. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ace Neilson, her parents, Mary and F.M. Stow, and her sister, Alice Stow Ingersol. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Nona and Bill Anderson, Salem, Ore.; a son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Shirley Neilson, Altus; six grandsons and their wives, Greg and Linda Anderson, Seattle, Wash., Rick and Kathy Anderson, San Diego, Calif, Rick and Deb Neilson, Alma, Neb. Jeff and Katie Neilson and Van and Nicole Neilson all of Paris, Texas, and Dane and Becky Neilson, Houston, Texas; four great grandchildren, Tori and Roni Anderson and Erin and Jeremy Neilson. A graveside service will be held at Bigfork Cemetery, Bigfork, Mont. at a later date.
