Payne DUMAS - A.W. "Willie" Payne, 84, died Saturday, Nov. 24, 2001. Services will be at 1 p.m. today in Morrison Funeral Directors of Dumas, Memorial Chapel, with Art Lynch, minister of First Street Church of Christ, officiating. Burial will be in Dumas Cemetery. Mr. Payne was born March 26, 1917, in Duke, Okla., and had been a Dumas resident since 1986. He served in the Army during World War II. He was a retired truck driver. He was preceded in death by two sisters; and two brothers. Survivors include his wife, Doris; a daughter, Margaret Powell of Dumas; three sons, Don Payne of Oakdale, Minn., Chuck Payne of Fort Worth and Ralph Payne of Las Vegas; 14 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. The family will be at 402 Pear in Dumas. The family suggests memorials be to Mark Payne Scholarship Fund in care of Dalhart Federal, P.O. Box 692, Dumas, TX 79029. Amarillo Globe-News, Nov. 26, 2001
