KENNETH L. BENTLEY JULY 4, 1925 - JAN. 28, 2005 My Beloved Husband, Our Beloved Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, Friend Kenneth Lee Bentley, 79, was born on July 4th, 1925 in Altus, Oklahoma and was raised in the state of Texas. In search of better employment opportunities in the construction industry, he joined his brother Lawrence in San Diego, California when he was just 16 years old. He proudly served his country in the Navy during World War 11. After the war, he moved to the Modesto area where he met his bride, Janice Jean Ott. They soon married in 1946 in Carson City, Nevada. They were married for 58 years and welcomed three children. They raised their family in the Modesto and Ceres areas. Mr. Bentley made his living in the trucking industry. Upon retirement, Mr. Bentley enjoyed his golden years by traveling, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren, of which be was very proud. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Teamsters Union. He is survived by his wife, Janice Bentley, his three children, Carolyn Sanford, Patti Christensen and Larry Bentley. sons-in-law Butch Sanford, Theron Christensen and Jeff Smith; grandchildren Jim Sanford, his wife Tammy, Jana Bullock, her husband Jim, Kena Naranjo, her husband Pete and Josh Christensen, his wife Kim. Great Grandchildren Austin Sanford, Clayton Sanford, Chase Sanford, Kash Bullock, Kennedy Bullock and Brittany Naranjo. He is also survived by his five brothers and-sisters, Ruth Bradbury, Betty Pickurel, Jim Bentley, Bill Bentley and Mary Holden. He was preceded in death by his father James F. Bentley, mother Lela Bentley, brother Lawrence Bentley and grandson Justin Christensen. Visitation for Kenneth will be held on Tuesday, February 1, 2005 from 7-8 pm at Lakewood Funeral Home in Hughson, CA. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, February 2, 2005 at 11 am at Lakewood Memorial Park in Hughson, CA.
