Evelyn M. Doughten Burge

Evelyn M. Doughten Burge, 72, of Amarillo, died Sunday, July 19, 
1998.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Memorial Park Funeral Home, 
Chapel of Memories, 6969 E. Interstate 40, with Jeff Asher of Dumas 
Drive Church of Christ officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park 
Cemetery.

Mrs. Burge was born in Eldorado, Okla. She moved to Amarillo in 1954 
from Borger. She was retired from the U.S. Postal Service and was a 
member of Northridge Church of Christ.

She married James Leon Burge in 1945 at Quanah.

Survivors include three sons, James Burge, Jack Burge and Tim Burge, 
all of Amarillo; two sisters, Edith Gober of Altus, Okla., and Elva 
Gober of Fort Worth; eight grandchildren; and five great-
grandchildren.

The family requests memorials be to Baptist St. Anthony's Hospice and 
Life Enrichment Center or the Ware Memorial Nursing Center.
