'Doc' Caldwell Hiram A. "Doc" Caldwell, 90, of Duncan died Sunday, Dec. 22, 2002, in Duncan. Service will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Bethel Assembly of God with Ron Meador officiating. Burial will be in Duncan City Cemetery under the direction of Don Grantham Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Mr. Caldwell was born Aug. 22, 1912, in Vernon, Texas, to Frank C. and Ellen Lou E. Dozier Caldwell. He married Lorene Davis on Feb. 14, 1932, and she preceded him in death on Oct. 4, 1936. He then married Joyce Adair on Dec. 4, 1937, in Altus. Mr. Caldwell was a retired welder. He was a member of NARF and active in the Senior Citizens Center in Duncan. He was a member of Bethel Assembly of God. Survivors include his wife, Joyce, of the home; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Weda and Russell Nix of Indio, Calif, Inola and Dale Ash of Cache and Mary Jo Barnett of Longview, Texas; two sons and daughters-in-law, Butch and Traeda Caldwell of Duncan and Randy and Marilyn Caldwell of Rowlett, Texas; five brothers, Frankie, Ira, Jessie B., Homer and Harvey Caldwell; a sister-in-law, Helen Caldwell of Carnegie; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; one great- great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Nora Hash; and a granddaughter, Sherrie Caldwell. Bearers will be R.D.
