Claude Clifford Chapman Jr.

PLAINVIEW - Claude Clifford Chapman Jr., 71, died Tuesday, June 30, 
1998.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today in College Heights Baptist Church in 
Plainview with the Rev. Don Robertson officiating. Burial will be in 
Parklawn Memorial Gardens in Plainview by Wood-Dunning Funeral Home 
Inc.

Mr. Chapman was born in Altus, Okla., and married Helen Clark in 1953 
at Quanah.

He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II in Germany and 
managed stores for M.E. Moses, TG&Y and Howard's. He bought Dargan's 
in 1973, Village Shop and Young Dud's in 1985 and The Vogue in Lamesa 
in 1988. After retiring, he worked at Gabriel's in Plainview.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Clark Chapman of Wichita Falls; 
two daughters, Linda Bearrow of Norman, Okla., and Judy Dwyer of 
Plainview; seven grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
