A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, February 19, 2003 in Restlawn Cemetery in Altus, Oklahoma, with Rev. Rick Thompson, pastor of Colonial Baptist Church in Wichita Falls, Texas, officiating. Services are under the direction of Lunn' s Colonial Funeral Home in Wichita Falls, Texas.Betty was born February 23, 1940 in Altus, Oklahoma to Melburn R. 'Meb' and Ruby Neher Holland. Betty was an Activities Director at the Retirement Inn in Oklahoma City. Betty had lived in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma for several years before moving to Wichita Falls, Texas in 2000. Betty graduated from Altus High School in 1958. She participated in the band and was a twirler. She was a military wife and traveled throughout the world and she was deeply involved in the Viet Nam airlift of refugees. Betty was active in the Western Club AA and had a passion for working with people in need. She also loved to spend time with her grandchildren.Betty was preceded in death by her parents: Melburn R. 'Meb'and Ruby Neher Holland and her grandchildren; Dustin Lee Jones and Morgan Leigh Massey.She is survived by 2 children: Kirk Massey and his wife Ellen of Abilene, Texas, Kim Bishop and her husband Randy of Wichita Falls, Texas, 1 sister; Myrna Moore and her husband John of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, 6 grandchildren; Colin, Kyle, Taylor and Kristen Massey, Levi Jones and Connor Bishop, niece; Holly Striplin and nephew JimBob Striplin and his wife Karie, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.Friends and family are invited to attend lunch at the Best Western in Altus, Oklahoma, 2804 N. Main at 11:30 AM, prior to the service.
