Cox ALTUS - Funeral for Charles E. Cox, 82, Altus, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Altus First Baptist Church with Jeff Moore officiating. Mr. Cox died Friday, Dec. 5, 2003, at his home. Burial will be at Altus City Cemetery under direction of Kincannon Funeral Home. He was born Aug. 11, 1921, in Miami, Texas, to Charles and Ella Telitha Cox. He graduated from high school in Montague, Texas, and entered the Army in 1942. He married Dean Morgan on May 27, 1943, in Fort Worth, Texas. He earned a bachelor's degree in agriculture economics and business from Texas A&M in 1950. He was a past president of the Altus Kiwanis Club, and a Boy Scout leader. He worked for the USDA cotton classifying office. Survivors include his wife, of the home, a daughter, Lynn Hyde; two sons and daughters-in-law: Danny and Marsha Cox and Kelly and Shelly Cox; two grandchildren: Kelly Don Hyde and Kyle Cox; a sister and brother-in-law, Nell and Bill Goforth; a cousin, Alton Cox; and many other cousins and friends. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Return to Jackson County Archives: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ok/jackson/jackson.html
