Nelson W. Dale Jr.
   
BORGER - Nelson W. Dale Jr., 75, died Sunday, Jan. 20, 2002
   
Services  will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Southside Baptist Church with
the  Rev.  James  Berry,  former  pastor,  and  the Rev. Kenton Crews,
pastor,  officiating.  Burial  will  be  in  Westlawn Memorial Park by
Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors.
   
Mr.  Dale was born Dec. 10, 1926, in Milburn, Okla. He married Veretta
Stephens  on  Jan.  6,  1951, in Altus, Okla. He was a Borger resident
since  1962.  He  was employed in the oil field many years. He retired
from Hooks Brothers Oil Co. and later from Gasket and Packings Inc.
   
He  was  a  World War II veteran serving with the Army. He was awarded
the  World War II Medal of Victory and Army of Occupation Japan Medal.
He was a longtime member and a deacon of Southside Baptist Church. Mr.
Dale enjoyed his family and his church and playing dominoes.
   
He  was proceeded in death by his parents; three sisters; and a great-
granddaughter.
   

Survivors  include  his wife; two sons, Stanley Dale and wife, Kay, of
Muleshoe and Mike Dale and wife, Ann, of Weatherford; three daughters,
Barbara  Barbour  and  husband,  Bennie,  Patricia Lemery and husband,

Bruce,  and  Karen  Felker  and  husband,  Ernie,  all of Borger; four
brothers,  Bobby  Dale  of  Conway,  Johnny  Dale of Morgan City, La.,
Donald  Dale of Fort Worth and Billy Dale of Oakwood, Okla.; a sister,

Ann Sandefur of Houston; 14 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.
   
The  family  suggests  memorials be to Crown of Texas Hospice, 1000 S.
Jefferson  St.,  Amarillo,  TX 79101 or Southside Baptist Church, 1010
Tyler St., Borger.
   
The family will be at 622 Madison.
