All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Altus Cemetery--Altus OK Lawton Constitution 18 Jun 2003 Daniel Morgan 'Captain Dan' Davies Jr. ALTUS - Funeral for Daniel Morgan "Captain Dan" Davies Jr., 74, Altus, will be at 2 p.m. today at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home with the Rev. Haynes Dugan officiating. Mr. Davies Jr. died Monday, June 16, 2003. Burial will be in Altus Cemetery. He was born Feb. 22, 1929, in Philadelphia, to Daniel and Francis Davies. He joined the U.S. Air Force in 1948. He married Ursula Ruth Fischinger July 15, 1952, in Ulm, Germany. He served tours of duty in Europe, South Carolina, Saudi Arabia, Nebraska, Vietnam, Germany, and England. He ended his career at Altus Air Force Base in 1971. He attended Western Oklahoma State College and worked for the Census Bureau. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the American Legion, and a life member of the VFW. He also served as post manager of VFW Post No. 4876 in Altus. He was All State Quartermaster from 1982-1998. He received many state and national honors including Patriotic Citizen Awards, Community Service Awards, Distinguished Post Quartermaster, Post Jr. Vice Commander, and National Aide-de- Camp. Survivors include three daughters and two sons-in-law: Claudia Ursula Elisabeth Davies, and Tracy Ellen and Darrel Rogers, all of Altus; and Jayne Rosemarie and Perry Stover, Mangum; a son and daughter-in- law, Daniel Morgan Davies III and Raquel, San Diego; six grandchildren: Jeff Daniel Warren and Morgan Daniel Rogers, both of Altus; Locklin Elisabeth Davies, Norman; and Cassie Dawn and Rafe Morris, Christopher Eugene Stover, and Jason Daniel Stover, all of Mangum; two great-grandchildren: Maci Jayne and Traye Lynn Morris, both of Mangum; a brother, Albert Davies, Philadelphia; a sister- in-law and husband, Rosemarie and Jack Everett, Panama City, Fla.; several nieces and nephews: Carol and Charles Crawford, and Dorothy Everett, all of Severin, Md.; Robert Boyer, Philadelphia; Patty and Drew Fulton, West Palm Beach, Fla.; Thomas Krakau, Hamburg, Germany; and Anja Krakau, Frankfurt, Germany.
