Rosary will be at 6:30 p.m. today in Rector Funeral Home Chapel, 2800 S. Osage St. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Monsignor Rex Nicholl officiating. Burial will be in Llano East Cemetery. Ms. Fernandez was born in Beeville. She moved to Amarillo in 1971 from Altus, Okla. She worked at the Levi's Plant before their closing as presser and a seamstress. She was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Survivors include three daughters, Elsa Gomez, Gloria Mendoza and Nancy Rico, all of Amarillo; five sons, Julio Oritz Jr., Rene Ortiz, Rudy Rico, Hector Rico and Moses Rico Jr., all of Amarillo; two brothers, Alfredo Chavarria of Beeville and Adam Chavarria of Abilene; 14 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 1210 E. 11th Ave., Amarillo, TX 79102; or American Liver Foundation, South Texas Chapter, 2525 W. Loop South, Suite 660, Houston, TX 77027.
