All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Greenlawn Memorial Park--Bakersfield CA Edna Lucille Gatson 1924 - 2008 Graveside services are today, at 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 31, 2008, at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 3700 River Blvd. Mom passed away peacefully on October 29 at her home. She was born on August 21, 1924 to James and Minnie Parker in Hess, Oklahoma. Mama was preceded in death by her parents; her beautiful daughter, Sharon Kay in 1947; and brothers, Jack, Kenneth, and Donald. She is survived by her loving husband, George; children, Cheryl (Mike) Hobbs, Dennis (Stephanie) Gatson, Karen (Phil) Blakemore, Anita (Vincent) Sons. Mother also leaves behind 4 grandaughters and 3 grandsons, 6 great- grandaughters and 5 great- grandsons, and 1 great-great- grandson, who loved and adored her very much. Mom and Dad just celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary on October 27th. During WWII, Mom (Rosie) worked for Lockheed riveting wings and other areas while George was in Europe with the U.S. Army. After the war, Mom began raising her family with complete love and devotion. Words cannot express her love for her family. No one ever left her presence angry or hungry. There is never a good time to lose a person like this. God's time is the best time.
