All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::East Lawn Palms Cemetery--Tucson AZ Tucson Citizen, Tucson AZ Marya Jo Keesee was born in Altus, Oklahoma, the adored child of P.J. and O'Stella Smith, on July 22, 1922. She loved life and devoted herself to making others feel loved, valued and appreciated. On May 18, 2006, she passed away peacefully at her home with her daughters at her side. After attending the University of Oklahoma, School of Pharmacy, her dedication to the war effort let her to manage the medical lab at Altus Air Force Base. During that time she fell in love with a handsome young soldier, Earl Frank Keesee. They were married December 21, 1944 in Altus. She continued her professional career after moving to Tucson. Through the 60's and 70's she worked with Tucson Cardiologist, Dr. Roland V. Murphy, as a laboratory technician. Marya Jo was an accomplished musician and bridge player. She enjoyed swimming, gardening and reading. Most passionately, she enjoyed tracking "her" Wildcat basketball team. She was preceded in death by her precious husband Earl, and leaves to cherish her memory: daughters Nancy Causbie (John) and Susan Keesee (Mark Meizner); grandchildren Julie Causbie Stenberg (Jeff), E.J. Causbie and Susan Causbie-Cowgill (John); great grandchildren John, Charles and Daniel Causbie and Kurt and Chloe Cowgill. The family is especially grateful for her angel caregivers, Joyce, Sally, Vera and Jackie. A memorial service will be held at EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY, 5801 E. Grant Road, Tucson, at 3:00 p.m., Monday, May 22, 2006.
