Paul 1924 - 2005 H. Paul Mann, 81, passed away peacefully Sunday, May 8, 2005, in Arlington. Graveside service: noon Wednesday in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. Visitation: 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Arlington Funeral Home. Memorials: Red Cross, 1515 S. Sylvania Ave., Fort Worth, Texas 76111. He was born March 24, 1924, to Beulah and Curtis Mann in Davis, Okla. He graduated in 1942 from Altus (Okla.) High School and joined the U.S. Army Air Corps in 1943. He married Billie Sue Francis of Altus in 1944. Col. Mann's decorated 28-year military career began during World War II as a navigator for a B-25 Mitchell, based in Kunming, China. As a pilot, he flew countless missions in F-86s in the Korean War and continued his service to the United States as a wing commander based in Da Nang, Vietnam, during the Vietnam War. Subsequently, he was the proprietor of a United Rent-All store in Arlington. Paul enjoyed retirement, taking trips in his plane with his wife, volunteering with Meals on Wheels and following his favorite sports teams. He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers. Survivors: Wife, Sue; children, Paula Miller, Dr. David Mann, Don Mann and wife, Patsy, and Richard Mann and wife, Sherry; grandchildren, Elizabeth, Tiffany, Doug, Amy, Leslie, Chris, James, Michelle and Nathaniel; and great-grandchild, Brady.
