All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Hillcrest Cemetery--McLean TX Amarillo Globe News 11 Mar 1998 Betty McCurley MCLEAN - Betty McCurley, 86, died Monday, March 9, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in McLean United Methodist Church with the Rev. Thacker Haynes, pastor, and the Rev. Don McCurley of Tennessee officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery by Wright Funeral Directors of Shamrock. Mrs. McCurley was born in Elida, Roosevelt County, N.M. She moved with her family in 1927 to Foard County. She married C.H. "Hack" McCurley in 1929 at Altus, Okla. In 1930, they moved to McLean, where they farmed until Mr. McCurley's death in 1970. Mrs. McCurley worked for the McLean school district and Marie Foundations before retiring in 1975. She was active in the Wesley Adult Bible Class at United Methodist Church. She also was preceded in death by an infant daughter and a son, Charles McCurley. Survivors include a son, Paul McCurley of Kingston, Okla.; four daughters, Texetta Tarbet of Shamrock, Martha Bailey of McLean, Lynda Butt of Clayton, N.M., and Barbara Schneider of Canyon; a sister, Jewell McCurley of McLean; 20 grandchildren; and 28 great- grandchildren. The body will be available for viewing at the funeral home in Shamrock from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. today and at the church in McLean from 10 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. Thursday.
