All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::NOT LISTED Moon, Winnie Chandler Winnie Chandler Moon, a loving mother, grandmother, great- grandmother, aunt and friend, died at the age of 90 on Saturday, Jan. 21, 2006, at an Arlington hospital, surrounded by her family. Funeral: Noon Saturday at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, 727 Hill St., Grand Prairie. The Rev. Canon Robert Young will officiate and her brother-in-law, the Rev. J.R. Earls, retired, will present her eulogy. Winnie was born July 30, 1915, in Altus, Okla., and was the oldest of five children born to Donald and Ethel Chandler. She was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Woodrow Moon, and their eldest daughter, LaWanda Reesing. Until recently, Winnie had been a Target employee for 15 years until she retired at the age of 88. Prior to Target, she had worked as a nurse at Presbyterian Hospital for a number of years, having gone back to college at the age of 50 to get her nursing degree. She was elected president of her nursing class. Prior to returning to college at the age of 50, she had been actively involved for 20 years in numerous Grand Prairie clubs and organizations during the 1950s and '60s, and was president of many to most all of them, such as The Altrusa Club of Grand Prairie, City Federation of Women's Clubs, Grand Prairie's Garden Club, and of course the Grand Prairie City Council of PTAs, to name just a few. It was during these years that she also worked alongside her husband in their local business, known as Bonds Securities. Survivors: Daughter, Judy Johnson of Grand Prairie; son, James Moon of Grand Prairie; granddaughters, Dr. Felicia Johnson of Little Rock, Ark., Nikki Page of Burleson; grandson, U.S. Marine Corps Reserves Maj. Phillip S. Reesing, New Orleans, La.; great-grandsons, Matthew Reesing of New Orleans, La., Ethan Page of Burleson; great- granddaughter, Kristin Reesing of New Orleans, La.; sisters, Doris Earls of Duncan, Okla., Edna Farris of Woodbridge, Va., Wilma Worrell of Norwalk, Calif.; many loving nieces and nephews; and a host of close friends from Target and beyond.
