Nelson DIMMITT - Clarence L. Nelson, 84, died Wednesday, Nov. 26, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in 4th and Bedford Street Church of Christ with Harry Riggs, Ronnie Parker and King Burney officiating. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park by Foskey-Lilley-McGill Funeral Home. Mr. Nelson was born in Alexander City, Ala. He lived in Abernathy from 1949 to 1970. He lived in Guymon, Okla., before moving to Dimmitt in 1980. He married Opal Bordofske in 1934 at Altus, Okla. Mr. Nelson was a member of 4th and Bedford Street Church of Christ. He was a past member and president of the Abernathy school board and a past elder and Sunday school teacher at the Church of Christ in Abernathy. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Shirley Kent, in 1979. Survivors include his wife; three sons, Dan Nelson and Corky Nelson, both of Dimmitt, and Jim Nelson of Lubbock; a daughter, Earlene Myatt of Dimmitt; a brother, Earl Nelson of Quanah; 11 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to the Children's Home of Lubbock.
