McGee From the Medford (OR) Mail Tribune 11-25-2001 at www.mailtribune.com Oarus D. McGee The funeral service for Oarus D. McGee will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Litwiller-Simonsen Funeral Home, Ashland. Chaplain Paul Hagedorn of Providence Hospice will officiate. Interment will follow in Scenic Hills Memorial Park, Ashland. Mr. McGee, 82, of Ashland, died Tuesday (Nov. 20, 2001) at Waterford at Three Fountains, Medford. Memorial contributions may be made to Dogs for the Deaf, Inc., 10175 Wheeler Road, Central Point, OR 97502, or to the Dr. Laura Schlessinger Foundation, My Stuff, 5022 N. Parkway Calabasas, Calabasas, CA 91302. He was born June 15, 1919, in Eldorado, Okla., the son of Robert T. and Pearl (Bynum) McGee. On Oct. 2, 1945, in Phoenix, Ariz., he married Doris M. Bunger. They moved to Klamath Falls in 1949 and to Ashland in 1950. She died in 1982. On Dec. 5, 1983, in Grants Pass, he married Grace M. Marion, who died in 1997. Mr. McGee was a journeyman electrician for Perinne Electric and Jackson Electric. He also owned and operated Lightning Electric. During World War II, he served in the U.S. Army in the Asiatic/Pacific Theater, including the liberation campaigns in New Guinea and the Philippines. He received a Bronze Star in each campaign. Mr. McGee was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers and First Baptist Church of Ashland. Survivors include a daughter, Janet M. Green, Medford; three sons, Robert O., Sunland, Calif., Daniel W., Camarillo, Calif., and Kenneth L., Mobile, Ala.; 14 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters. Friends may pay their respects from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Litwiller-Simonsen Funeral Home, 1811 Ashland St., Ashland.
