All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::City Cemetery--Altus OK Altus Times 20 May 2004 Parker Henry Grady Parker, 101, was born October 20, 1902 in Cullman, Ala. and died Wednesday, May 19, 2004. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, May 21, 2004 at the Friendship Baptist Church with the Rev. Madison Clinton officiating. Burial will follow at the with Lowell-Tims Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Parker moved to Olustee in 1924 and married Beulah Lee Drury in 1927. They lived in the Olustee community until 1954, when they bought their farm Northeast of Altus. The couple were married 76 wonderful years. Parker farmed in Jackson County all of his life, raising wheat and cotton, but was best known for his watermelons and peaches. He loved hunting and fishing and did his share of both. He was a longtime member of Friendship Baptist Church. Parker was preceded in death by four sisters and three brothers; a son, Wilton Parker; a daughter, Myrna Wrable; a granddaughter, Rhonda Price; and a great-granddaughter, Michell Cook. He is survived by his wife Beulah; grandchildren, Danny Thompson of Altus, Jimmy Butterbaugh of Arlington, Texas, Billy Cook of Houston, Janet Allen of San Antonio, Texas, Roberta Enright of Midwest City and David Butterbaugh of Altus; nine great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
