All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Altus City Cemetery--Altus OK Lawton Constitution 14 Sep 2002 Ruth Foster Pixley ALTUS — Funeral for Ruth Foster Pixley, 83, Altus, will be at 10 a.m. today at Altus First Baptist Churc with the Rev. Jeff Moore, Bob Evans and Salvation Army Capt. Ernie Hull officiating. Mrs. Pixley died Thursday, Sept. 12, 2002, in Altus. Burial will be at Altus City Cemetery under direction of Kincannon Funeral Home. She was born Jan. 7, 1919, in Greenwood, Texas, to E.L. and Effie McNeeley Foster. She graduated from Ozark School and earned an associate of arts degree from Altus Junior College. She married Kenneth Pixley on April 5, 1958, in Altus. He died in January 2001. She was a homemaker and helped her husband in his business projects. She was a member of the Erolethian Club and the Altus Quilting Club. She was also a member of Altus First Baptist Church for more than 70 years, and a member of the Salvation Army Board for many years. In 1998, she was selected as "Older American of the Year." Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Kathryn Pixley, Granbury, Texas; three grandchildren: Kenneth Marshall Pixley, Samuel Foster Pixley and Ruth Kathryn Pixley, all of Granbury, Texas; a niece and her husband, Jean Kaye and Avery Braziel, Altus; two great-nieces: Kelli Harris and her husband, Paul; and Jaime Braziel, all of Wichita Falls, Texas; two nephews and their wives: Fred and Sylvia Foster and Jim and Linda Foster, all of Altus; a godchild, Ireta Adams Ekstrom; and many friends.
