All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::NOT LISTED Fort Worth Star Telegram 6 Apr 2005 Pruden, Floyd Bernard 1919 - 2005 Floyd Bernard Pruden died after 85 years of a full and joyous life Sunday, April 3, 2005. His lifelong friend in love and marriage of 66 years, Wilma, was joined at his bedside by children Terry, David, and Gay. Memorial service: 3:30 p.m. Thursday in Greenwood Chapel, with Lucia McKee Kremzar officiating, associate chaplain with Vitas. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, contributions are requested to be directed to those generous and kind institutions that helped and supported during his life and death. Floyd Bernard Pruden was born April 17, 1919, in Quanah. The marriage of Floyd and Wilma spanned almost seven decades, a beautiful life together. Floyd had a lifelong love of music that began when he was drum major at Altus High School in Altus, Okla. He attended SMU with a scholarship as a drum major and graduated from Texas Christian University in 1959 with a degree in physics. His career of over 40 years with General Dynamics and his lifelong occupation was in the aircraft and aerospace industry, where he retired in 1984. Floyd enjoyed his assignments with the industry, which took him from Fort Worth to San Diego, Los Angeles, Denver, Nashville, Boston and New Orleans for work and wind tunnel testing of his various projects. He spoke with caring and dedication of his work on the B-58, F-111 and the F-16, among other important aircraft of his day. After his retirement, Floyd and Wilma enjoyed travel and, in particular, had many beautiful memories of trips to Europe, Russia, Australia and New Zealand where they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. The family of Floyd Pruden wishes to thank the doctors and staff of Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas and the dedicated people of Vitas Hospice at Baylor All Saints Hospital for their care and support. He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Myrtle Pruden; and his sister, Kathryn. A quote on the family calendar from the day of Floyd's death read, "The gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord," Romans 6:23 Survivors: Grandchildren, Tully Murphy, Ben Pruden, Brent Scholz and Kim Terry.
