Services have been scheduled for 3 p.m. Tuesday, May 18, at Lowell-Tims Chapel with Tom Reitmeier officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home. The family will greet friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, P.O. Box 650309, Dallas, TX 75265-0309. Alta Mae was born Nov. 25, 1926, in Olustee. She was the daughter of Thomas Marion and Ruby Webb Bush. She was a lifelong resident of Jackson County. On Aug. 14, 1947, Alta Mae and Andy Wallace were united in marriage in Altus. He preceded her in death in 1998. Alta Mae was a member of the First Baptist Church of Altus, where she taught Sunday School for many years. She retired from Altus Air Force Base, where she served as the chief inspector for the Civil Engineering Squadron for many years. During her retirement she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. She is lovingly survived by two daughters, Marilyn Wallace and Jeanie D Duncan and husband Jimmy of Altus; two sons, Carry Pat Wallace and wife Rhonda, and Mike Wallace and wife Sharon of Blair; six grandchildren, Kelby Wallace of Blair, Jason Wallace of Stillwater, Lindsey Wallace of Stillwater, Amy Jill and Jeff Hart of Vinson, Denise and Sol Kramer of Oklahoma City, and Tracy Duncan of Altus; two soon-to-be- great-grandchildren, Kylie Kramer and Baby Hart; one sister-in-law, Georgan Reitmeier and husband Tom of Houston, Texas; two brothers-in-law, Gerald Wallace and wife Ann of Altus, and Glen Wallace and wife Ruth of Oklahoma City; and a special friend, Lucille Pewett of Altus. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Return to Jackson County Archives: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ok/jackson/jackson.html
