All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Evergreen Cemetery--El Centro CA Wilcox, Willie Ray Oct. 14, 1914 - Jan. 24, 2007 Willie Ray Wilcox, 92, of Brawley passed away of natural causes Wednesday, January 24 at Regan Community Care in Brawley. Willie was born October 14, 1914 in Gould, Oklahoma. She was married to Georgia Otis Wilcox on October 23, 1932 in Hollis, OK. Willie and Otis came to California like many Oklahomans during the Dustbowl years. They followed the Mother Road, Route 66 and first settled in Modesto, CA. After following crops for several years, Willie and Otis settled down in El Centro in 1939. Willie was a housewife for almost 70 years and worked at Imperial Printers, in the bindery department for 20 years. Otis and Willie were married for 58 years. She was a great mother and wonderful grandmother until her death. Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 30 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Hems Brothers Mortuary, located at 1975 S. 4th Street in El Centro. Graveside services will commence at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, January 31 at Evergreen Cemetery in El Centro. She was preceded in death by her husband Otis Wilcox; sisters Velma Pauline Cansler, Veda Mae Cooper and Nora Neal Gist. Willie is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Ray and Karen Wilcox; granddaughter Wendy Vilches and her husband Daniel of San Diego; and grandson Jason Wilcox of El Centro.
