Jim R. Wilson ODESSA - The Rev. Jim R. Wilson, 68, died Wednesday, July 22, 1998, in Lubbock. Services will be at 4 p.m. Saturday in Temple Baptist Church in Odessa with the Rev. Robert Berry of Mission Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Ector County-Odessa Cemetery by HubbardKelly Funeral Home of Odessa. The Rev. Wilson was born in Hess, Okla. He graduated from Pampa High School in 1948 and from Sul Ross University in 1952, then attended seminary in Fort Worth. He was the pastor of churches in Etter, Shamrock, Balmorhea, Alpine and El Paso. The Rev. Wilson was associated with High Plains Baptist Hospital in Amarillo. In 1998, he retired after 19 years as chaplain with Odessa Medical Center. He was a member of Mission Baptist Church in Odessa. Survivors include his wife, Helen; four sons, Tommy Wilson of Monahans, Paul Wilson of Lubbock, Ross Wilson of Austin and David Wilson of Odessa; his mother, Drusilla Cosper of Pampa; a brother, Elmer D. Wilson of Pampa; eight grandchildren; and two great- grandchildren.
