All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Eakly Cemetery--Eakly OK Lawton Constitution 16 July 2003 Haden Ewing Young ALTUS — Funeral for Haden Ewing Young, 90, Altus, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Mangum Church of Christ with Roger Todd and Ken Hamilton officiating. Mr. Young died Sunday, July 13, 2003. Burial will be at 2 p.m. at Eakly Cemetery, under direction of Peoples Funeral Home, Lone Wolf. He was born Oct. 4, 1912, in Sedan, to James Haden Young and Georgia Annie Canterberry Young. He graduated from Lake Valley High School, and was a member of the Civilian Conservation Corp. at Binger from July 1934 to March 1936. He married Vera Lancaster on June 8, 1935, at Anadarko. He retired from the Soil Conservation Service after 33 years in Caddo, Kiowa and Greer counties. He had been a member and an elder of the Hobart and Mangum Churches of Christ, and was a member of Elm and Hudson Church of Christ in Altus. He was a member of the board of directors of Quartz Mountain Christian Camp for many years. Young’s Mountain was dedicated in his honor. Survivors include his wife, Altus; three sons and daughters-in-law: Ray and Trela Young, El Reno; Don and Linda Young, Newcastle; and Bill and Jan Young, Newkirk; two daughters and sons-in-law: Louise and Lewis Ahrens, Altus; and Kathy and Doug Kyle, Mangum; two brothers: Lee Young, Russellville, Ark.; and Mark Young, Hot Springs, Ark.; three sisters-in-law: Helen Young, Santa Paula, Calif.; Polly Wright, Wynnewood, and Olive Lancaster, Cordell; 14 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; three sisters; and a son, Ronnie Lee Young.
