STORMS will teach in the summer normal at Ryan during June after which he and Mrs. Storms will visit the California Exposition, returning by the way of Missouri for a short visit with relatives. MISS BOWERS has returned to her home at Sanger, Texas. MISS RICHARDSON expects to make a tour of the west, visiting Yellowstone National Park and other points of interest. MISS VANHOOSEN will return to her home at Denison, Texas and will take a course at Chicago University. MISS GREEN, MISS DAVIS and MISS HOBBS are planning a trip to the California exposition. MISS WOOLDRIDGE will attend school at Edmond. MISS KNOX will attend school at Colorado State Normal at Greeley, Colorado. MISS MCHENRY will spend her vacation at home, probably teaching a summer term. MISS STOKER and MISS BOYD will return to their homes. MRS. CHRISTIAN will spend the summer at the home of her father in East Texas and MISS BETTY will return to her home at Temple. Revival Meeting Beginning next Sunday morning the Methodists will launch a revival campaign, with REV. J. O. PETERSON, the pastor, doing the preaching and PROF. R. C. WHITE in charge of the song services. Doing Fine A letter from G. M. SUTTON announces his adventure in the automobile business, having secured the state agency for the Inter-State automobile, known as the thousand dollar car. The firm is styled Sutton-Johnson and is located in Oklahoma City. BILL NICHOLS of Comanche was a visitor here last Friday. KENNEDY of Liberty, Missouri came last week and commenced a protracted meeting at this place. The high waters have been badly crippling the mail service. B. V. CUMMINS of St. Louis was in town this week. T. N. CHANDLER is preparing to build a residence on his lots on West C street. MRS. MARY COCAIN, who has been confined to her bed on account of sickness, is improving. A. L. WALKER, W. MARSHALL, B. V. LOOSEMORE and D. W. CUMMINS of Temple were in Waurika. They drove out and spent the day with our jolly friend, J. P. ADAMS, all reported an enjoyable day. A. A. BRENNERMAN went to Wichita, Kansas this week to see his son OSCAR who recently sustained a fractured skull in an accident where he was working. It is thought an operation will have to be performed, removing a portion of the skull bone and replacing it with a plate. A fine dance last week at SAM FERRIS. All report a good time. JAMES WOODSON is building an addition near his house in the shape of a cave. Local News DR. R. G. DIXON was a business visitor from Sugden. BILLIE PATTERSON went to Oklahoma City. J. W. SNYDER was a Waurika visitor. MRS. R. B. TRICE of Ryan was shopping here. GEORGE MCREYNOLDS returned the end of last week from a visit with relatives at Ryan. A.M. DULANEY has leased the Commercial Hotel, formerly operated by GAN JOHNSTON. MISS ETTA BOYD, a teacher in the Waurika schools, left for her home at Terral. Mr. and Mrs. H. C. GRESHAM of Cleburne, Texas are visiting Mr. and Mrs. W. H. GRESHAM here. Rev. J. P. PYATT spent last Friday and Saturday in Hastings. Mr. and Mrs. J. A. JOHNSON of Tulsa are spending the week with Mr. and Mrs. A. L. DUNKIN. The Johnsons and Dunkins are old Texas acquaintances. C. F. TRIMBLE, pastor of the Christian Church, will arrive and preach. MISS JENNIE BOWERS and MISS EFFIE GREEN, teachers in the Waurika schools, went to their homes at Sanger, Texas. MRS. T. S. CAMPBELL of Snyder, who visited her brother, C. W. COSTEN here, departed for Conder, Texas to visit other relatives. A card from MARVIN HUMPHREY at Douglas, Arizona, requested us to change the address of his paper, states that he is now comfortably located and likes that country fine. MRS. J. W. HOWARD returned Monday to her home at Temple after visiting a few weeks with her son, JIM E. HOWARD and her daughters, MRS. L. W. TARKENTON and MRS. JOHN MORGAN. ROBERT PYATT returned Monday to Edmond to complete a general preparatory course for school teaching. JOE HICKERSON and DELL GREEN departed Monday for Ada to seek employment in the oil field. They had been here some time assisting on the BRUMMETT farm northeast of town. VERNON HAMILTON was a visitor to Oklahoma City, going over with his father, P. T. who went to confer with the attorney general regarding Indian land tax matters. JUDGE CHAM JONES, who presided over the district court at Chickasha, arrived Saturday for a few days. MISS AMERICA SMITH arrived from Lometa, Texas to be at the bedside of her father, MONROE SMITH, who recently suffered a stork of paralysis from which he never regained strength and is forced to be in bed all the while. MRS. LEE CONE of Bowie, Texas, sister to F. C. MARMADUKE of this city, returned Sunday to her home after a week spent in Waurika and attending the graduating exercises of the high school in which her nieces, MISS JENNIE and MISS EMMA MARMADUKE participated. J. W. TOOMER was called to Lillian, Texas by the sickness and death of his mother who died Thursday of last week after prolonged suffering of cancer of the stomach. Deceased was 63 years of age and the remains were laid to rest in the family cemetery at Lillian last week. Sheriff J. W. BIFFLE returned Sunday from an official visit to Durant where he went in answer to information that a man named JIM SMITH, wanted in Jefferson County on a charge of horse theft, was being held… Smith answered the description of the man wanted in Jefferson County, but proved to be innocent and was turned loose. PROF. R. C. WHITE has recently finished a successful term of school at Big Valley and is spending a short vacation in Waurika. He has been re- employed to teach another term there and will teach a couple of months during the summer, after which he expects to attend the World Fair at San Francisco before beginning his duties of his regular fall term. E. J. CANNY of Burlington, Iowa, son-in-law of Mr. and Mrs. JAMES MCGRAW, was a Waurika visitor, being on his return home from the exposition at San Francisco and San Diego, California. Among the graduates at the state university at Norman, ex-supt. L. L. WADE or Prof. Wade with the degree of bachelor of science in medicine and will continue the advanced study of medicine for two years before settling down to actual practice. A. E. QUICKLE, living northeast of town, was a Waurika visitor and dropped in and had his subscription marked up to June 1, 1916. Mr. Quickle located in Jefferson County in 1911 and about the first thing he did was to look up the county newspaper and enroll his name on its list of satisfied readers. MRS. J. W. OGLE, MISS N. WOOLDRIDGE, and Mrs. O. E. HEACOCK went to Oklahoma City last Sunday.
