Grave Gives Up Petrified Body A beautiful evidence of devotion and love was given last week to express itself, when after four months of irksome toil and exacting economy, a day laborer of the local oil field, had saved enough funds to take up the remains of his wife and baby who has been buried two years ago in the Healdton cemetery and carry them to the old burying ground of Comanche and here lay them to await resurrection morn along side of loved ones gone before. To do this $300 hard earned dollars had to be expended, but at that the kindly man feels well rewarded for complying with the last wish of a loving companion and cherished helpmate. The diggers to their surprise found the body of the woman had petrified in one solid mass and the infant was also petrified. However, the coffin remained as two years. From these facts, it is thought that a majority of those buried at Healdton cemetery are also in petrified masses. The bodies were taken to Ardmore for transportation by train to Comanche.
