GLENNERY went to Wichita Falls on business. Mr. and Mrs. J. L. KEHOE visited FRED MCCONNELL west of town. ENOCH MEADOWS of Kirkland, Texas visited relatives here. MISSES BLANCHE CHOATE and LUCILE WALKER went to Waurika. C. P. EPPERSON added to his house that he recently purchased from A. L. MAINS. Work will soon begin on M. H. BARRETT'S beautiful farm residence east of town. D. E. WARD, our bandmaster, went to Grandfield. MISS LEOLA MARSHALL of Wichita Falls is visiting her uncle J. H. HAILEY and his family. J. L. KIETH returned from buying cattle in Texas. G. G. COOK, formerly of Lookout area, now near Temple, was here Saturday. THORNTON MCDONALD and family of near Addington visited O. E. WELCH and family here. MRS. ABBIE JOHNSON of Stoneburg, Texas visited her sister MRS. O. L. WALKER. JACK CARLILE sold his half interest in the Air Dome, Ryan's popular moving picture show, to SAM GARRISON. N. W RAY was here for the first time in weeks, having recovered from mumps. J. R. THOMAS, wife and son left for Kerrville, Texas to visit relatives. L. D. MAJOR consigned five carloads of cattle for Oklahoma City. MISS MAE OTIS of Rhome, Texas returned home after visiting her sister MRS. J. E. TRICE. M. E. SOWELL and TOM NEILL of Grady took the train to eastern Oklahoma to look after cattle interests. MRS. WADE of Decatur, Texas returned home after visiting her son and family here. The front of O. B. GARRISON'S store building have been treated to a new coat of paint. W. R. BROWN consigned three cars of fat steers for Fort Worth market. L. D. MAJOR received 733 head of two year steers from Menard, Texas which he will pasture at his ranch this summer. DR. H. OVERBEY is thinking of remodeling and building an addition to his residence, also L. O. SMITH and others. J. W. HAMPTON bought the meat market of S. SOUTHER last week. Mr. Souther and family will move to Arizona. MRS. A. L. MAINS returned from El Reno where she attended a Baptist Missionary Society Convention. HIRSCHEL SHAW came to visit friends. His father was one time pastor of the M. E. Church here. MRS. J. H. WHITESIDE and two little sons went to Nocona, Texas to visit M. M. KERN and family. OSCAR SPARKS was in Ringgold, Texas visiting a fair young damsel. He used to stop at Terral, but no longer. A.L. KELLER was in Waurika. He is one of our best and most industrious young farmers. He will plant 100 acres of broom corn and 20 acres in peanuts. JUDGE SPENCER and wife of Montague County were here visiting Mr. and Mrs. M. S. SHARP whose hospitality made their stay exceptional delightful. TOM N. SMITH and W. E MILLER are the latest auto owners, each buying a Ford last Saturday. Ryan has more autos than any town in the sunny south of its size. R. W. GRIMSLEY of Nocona, Texas will preach at the Christian Church. CLARENCE RUSH of Fleetwood was here on his way home from visiting at Lawton. Clarence clerks in the Fleetwood store. MISS BLANCHE CHOATE and ten of the high school students will give a play at the opera house Friday evening, "Her Gloves." SPARKMAN & TRICE are working four harness and saddle experts in their leather department. The three IRICKS and W. W. SMITH are all busy making harness and saddles. Mr. and Mrs. J. F. JACKSON left for Mineral Wells to remain for an indefinite time, hoping Mr. Jackson will be restored to health. E. L. WORRELL, president of the First National Bank, was in Waurika and placing a bid on the old T. J. LACY residence which was offered at Sheriff's Sale. AL TUCKER transacted business in Fort Worth. GEORGE MCREYNOLDS recently conducted a successful school term at Riverview. L. O. SMITH was in Bowie, Texas visiting his parents. L. O. is one of Ryan's pioneer business men and keeps up with progress, carrying one of the nicest and up to now line of furniture in southern Oklahoma. JOE VANDERBERG of Terral had the misfortune to lose his barn and contents by fire Sunday morning. He lost 200 bushels of corn, one buggy, harness and some hay. J. P. BRAWLEY, the druggist at Hastings, was the lucky one in the postoffice race there, winning over seven other candidates. He was recommended for appointment by Hon. SCOTT FERRIS. W. P. CARDEN was a warm contender. E. L. DILLARD, assistant county attorney, was in Courtney prosecuting a case against ROBERT GRISSOM, who was bound over for district court. TOM FULLERTON Shot at Cushing Word reached here last Sunday night that TOM FULLERTON had been shot at Cushing, Oklahoma. His son TOMMIE FULLERTON left on the midnight train to bring the body back to Sugden for burial beside his wife. Tom Fullerton was 67 years of age and had lived here for years, well-known, a nightwatchman at the oil mill for several years. He took a vacation April 20th, expecting to return within two weeks. He was in company with MRS. B M. LOYD, formerly of this town, now of Cushing. GEORGE E. HUGHES will close a successful school term at Terral this Friday, then will return here. Mr. and Mrs. J. W. SAMPSON were here from Mangum to visit her brother M. S. SHARP and family. Mr. Sampson has a desirable position with a hardware house at Mangum. DR. FOWLER BORDER, mayor of Mangum, was here between trains, visiting his friend, DR. LEWIS. CHRIS BACHTOLD returned from Oklahoma City where he took a ten weeks in automobile shops, learning how to regulate and repair the complex parts of all makes of cars. Chris expects to open a garage in this town soon. SIDNEY WHITTINGTON, who has been employed at this office for seven weeks, remarked that his feet were tickling him and responded to the tickle by leaving for southern points. Whit was more cultured and refined than the ordinary journeyman print. Notice there will be no more free burial plots in the Ryan cemetery except for the potter's field. All parties desiring to buy lots and blocks, will call at L. O. SMITH'S and get a warranty deed. Steers Stolen J. S. and HENRY PRICE of Addington missed some cattle. Inquiry developed that cattle were in the Duncan stockyards ready for shipment. All except five head belonging to ANDY YATES of Comanche belonged to them, cattle driven to Duncan by JESS GRAHAM and an unknown man, both sought by officers now. Locals from Grady W. H. SPARKMAN and WILL ACREE of Ryan visited here. MR. LAWRENCE and MISS WINNIE BROWN of Spanish Fort, Texas visited relatives here. Born to Mr. and Mrs. J. E. EVANS, a girl on the 27th. School closed Friday, MISS ALLEEN MORRIS, the primary teacher returned to her home at Loco. Mr. and Mrs. WRIGHT visited Mr. and Mrs. JOE EVANS. LLOYD SAPPINGTON went on business to Waurika. MISSES MARY and ORA CARNES visited MISS LELA FARLESS. MRS. W. C. SAPPINGTON visited MRS. BAKER. Mr. and Mrs. V. BIFFLE visited Mr. and Mrs. PHIL DUNFORD Sunday. A crowd of young people went picnicking on Mud Creek. RAY NEILL of Ardmore is visiting his brothers WALTER and TOM NEILL. Friday evening, MRS. W. J. JOHNSON entertained her Sunday School class with a party. Music was rendered by MISSES BROWN, BAKER and SAPPINGTON. Chocolate and cake were served to MISSES DUNFORD, BROWN, BAKER, GREEN, MORRIS, SAPPINTON and Messrs. BROWN, BAKER, GREEN, DUNFORD, CRANFIL, COADY, NEILL, JOHNSON, SAPPINGTON and SPARKS.
