Miss Adams began work in the field early, she traded at Duncan and Loco before the Healdton field was discovered, and from the day the first well was brought in, she has been very active. She sold the SMALLEY lease to GUNSBURG & FORMAN and in that one deal, she made more than the average man's salary for a year. She also closed the deal for the royalty of ALEX HAMMONS and in leases and in royalties, she has sold the highest price stuff I the field. Miss Adams secured a large acreage between Ryan and Cornish in Jefferson County and after getting the acreage, she made a deal with a California company to develop it. From the Ardmoreite Leverett-Holland At the home of the groom's parents in Waurika at 9:00 Wednesday night, the pretty little wedding of CHARLIE LEVERETT and MISS ABBIE HOLLAND of Fort Worth took place with a few couples and relatives present. They left at 5:00 Sunday for their honeymoon in Oklahoma City, also looking for a location. Charlie is the son of our tax assessor T. B. LEVERETT and has lived in Ryan a number of years from childhood to manhood and is like by all who know him. The young people enjoyed a party Saturday night given by MISS DAISEY DEEN. The evening was spent with songs, conversation and games, including 42. Those present were RETHA FISHER, VIRGIE BROWN, FAY BURCH, MARGARET JOPLING, CHARLEY GRANTHAM, ROWAN WILTON, JOHN PURVIS, and FRED TREADWELL. Fleetwood Items Mr. and Mrs. D. A. CATHEY were in Ryan and dined with Mr. and Mrs. TERRY. CONNIE MATTHEWS visited his sister in Waurika. JOHN CATHEY and WILLIAM TINDEL and CONNIE MATTHEWS were in Terral Sunday. D.A. CATHEY and family spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. W. V. HAYES. MISS EFFIE ROBERTSON visited MISS MAE CATHEY. Mr. and Mrs. ROBERT DEGGS spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. W. A. TINDAL. ASA CATHEY visited CLIFFORD ROBINSON. MRS. ELMER CATHEY spent Thursday with MRS. D. A. CATHEY. OTTO CATHEY and CHARLIE TINDAL attended church at Goodwin. Mr. and Mrs. MATTHEWS shopped in Terral. MISS ELSIE CATHEY spent Friday with MRS. ROBERT TINDAL. WILL WEST and HENRY HOAD dined with D. A. CATHEY. MAE CATHEY and EFFIE ROBINSON spent Monday with MRS. CHARLIE SANDERS. MRS. D. A. The party given by IVA and OLA EDMONDSON was attended quite a number of young people. J. L. LEWIS was called to the bedside of his aged mother last Friday. CLARENCE LEWIS and wife visited his brother I H. LEWIS and wife. JOHNNIE ALLEN returned home from Byers, Texas accompanied by LAWRENCE RUSH and sister. Belview News Mr. and Mrs. DICK BURGIE visited Mr. and Mrs. TAYLOR Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. WALKER visited MRS. COATS. JACK COATS and wife of Ryan visited his mother Sunday. Mr. TAYLOR and MISS MORGAN of Ryan called on his parents. Local News MISS BESS BRISCOW / BRISCO of Wichita Falls is the guest of MISS MAE BROWN. W.A DARNELL returned from Guthrie where he was a witness in an important case. G. J. KEITH was looking after business and visiting old time friends in Jack County, Texas. CLIFF TRICE returned to Fort Worth after visiting relatives here. MRS. C. M. DEASON returned home to El Reno after visiting the family of W. R BROWN. ARTHUR MCREYNOLDS of Seymour, Texas was the guest of his brother PROF. GEORGE MCREYNOLDS. R. C. UNDERWOOD visited relatives at Weatherford and other points in Texas. County weigher GEORGE TABOR was here and paid the Leader office a pleasant call. J. H. GRIZZELL was here from the east of the county. Mr. and Mrs. BOSS JOHNSON were in Texas looking after their oil interests there. W. F. CARTER and JOHN HEENAN of Waurika were here looking after oil leases. MRS. BETTIE BURCH left for the St. Louis markets to purchase goods for spring and summer millinery for O. B. GARRISON store. W. J. CURTIS, C. E.RICH, RUBY DOYLE and Rev. D. N. CURB were in Muskogee to appear before the federal grand jury. Mr. and Mrs. GEORGE KEY have the sympathy of their many friends in the death of their little two day old baby at their home last Thursday. MISS ETHEL SHANKLIN of Waurika is the new manager of the Pioneer Telephone office in this city taking the place of MRS. CHESNEY who will visit home folks at Waurika then join her husband at Kansas City. H. V BIRD and son, NOEL NORMAN, and R. E. FISHER attended the bankers' convention at Lawton, by driving through in Mr. Bird's auto and reported a splendid time. EMMET SCHOOLFIELD of Waurika was here. He is now one of the full fledged oil magnates in the Healdton field, getting in early and has some valuable leases in his field. OLLIE ORTON was in Ryan then left for Ardmore via Oklahoma City. He has been rather active in the oil field and has some very profitable investments. BARRY TRICE was called to Shawnee as a witness in the federal court against a commission man to whom Mr. Trice had made consignments of produce and from whom he failed to receive adequate returns. J. W. RYAN was here from the oil fields and reported that the SHRIMPFER Oil and Gas Co. spudded in on Section 22, five south and two west about five miles south of Wilson. He reports things lively in the field and he has several teams at work at good prices. Grady News HAMP THOMAS went to Ryan on business. NEWEL and PEARL DUFORD visited MYRTLE BAGLEY at Roland, Texas. MISS ALTA DENNIS resumed her position as teacher at Oak Hill after visiting her parents. FRANK CRANFORD and WALTER CALVERY were in Ryan on business. MILES KERM of Nocona, Texas was in Grady. MRS. JIM DUNFORD is on the sick list. HENRY COADY returned from visiting a sister at Wichita Falls. MRS. A. LONG of McClain, Texas is visiting relatives here. MRS. J. H. BROWN and daughter WINNIE of Roland, Texas and Mrs. AMANDA LONG of McClain, Texas visited Mr. and Mrs. BROWN. BUDDIE MORGAN and HENRY CODAY visited the oil fields near Cornish. On Friday night Mr. and Mrs. SYLVESTER CORBIN entertained a number of their friends in honor of their nieces, OMA and GAUGY BUSBY of Oscar. JOHN MORRISON of Ryan was here. ALVIN THOMPSON and BENFORD WALTERS visited LESLIE EDWARDS. The party at A. K. THOMPSON'S Friday was given in honor of his sister MRS. EDNA FUQUA and was enjoyed by a large number of young people. EVERETT MCMENAMY says that Texas is an attractive place to someone. The singing at T. E. EDMONDSON's was largely attended. MISS FANNIE STOVALL and her mother visited MRS. A. K. THOMPSON. Belview Items (too late for last week) MISS ALFORD visited at MR. ALFORD'S. Wonder what or who the attraction is/ N. W. RAY of the west side was here. Mr. and Mrs. TAYLOR and Miss ORA visited Mr. and Mrs. WALKER. Mr. and Mrs. KELLER visited with Mr. and Mrs. PHAGAN.
