Jesse will enroll in the El Paso School of Mines and Metallurgy this fall. BILL KENNEDY was fined and given 15 days in jail for disturbing the Gore speaking. Man Drowned FRED MCCLURE, about 45 years old, supervisor of the WPA work projects for CLAUD THORP, county commissioner in third district, drowned early Saturday night in Red River near the old Meridian Bridge south of Waurika, where he had gone with BURLEY GOLDEN to spend the night fishing. .McClure lived in Ryan and is survived by his wife and two children. JACK MASON visited friends at Atchison, Kansas after the term at O.U. ended. He and his aunt, Mrs. W. T. F. BUSH, will visit relatives in Kentucky. Mrs. NORA JANE PETERS and children, Mr. and Mrs. EDWARD PETERS and CHARLES of Denton, Texas attended the Texas Centennial. Mr. and Mrs. SCOTT SUMPTER and children of Fort Cobb visited the J. A. SUMPTER home and their cousins, Mr. and Mrs. CLAY SUMPTER and children DENA and DIXON before they returned to Lebanon, Indiana. ALFRED KEELE and Mrs. ESTHER LEE WHISENANT drove to Anadarko to take home Mrs. GLEN YOUNG and little daughter BETTY JEAN, who visited Mrs. S. S. OSBORNE and family. BILL BALLEWS, one of Jefferson County's World War veterans, received his bonus Tuesday. He and his wife are building a house with five rooms and a bathroom on Meridian Street. Mr. and Mrs. HUGH PLUMLEE of Temple were guests of Mr. and Mrs. C. W. PLUMLEE. Mr. and Mrs. C. I. HUFFMAN, who had been at El Reno where he was in the hospital, returned home, doing better. Mr. and Mrs. JESSE SMITH of Chickasha were guests of their sister and aunt, Mrs. TOM CUBINE and family, then visited Mr. and Mrs. RUBE WEAVER. Mrs. A. M. SMITH and daughter LILLIE MAE returned from Sulphur and Turner Falls. They reported a fine vacation and that Mrs. ED CHISHOLM, formerly of Waurika, now at Sulphur, asked to be remembered by her old friends here. DEWEY GOODWIN, formerly a high school teacher here, sent a card from Mission, Texas where he was sent by the Federal Immigration Service. Mrs. GAIL DURHAM and daughter, Mrs. LILLIAN HEATH, were in Dallas with Mrs. Durham's sister, Mrs. ROMIE DAVIS, and attended the Texas Centennial. Mr. and Mrs. L. J. TRIPP and family, "who have been eating and sleeping around" since their house was badly damaged, spent the weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. P. B. TURNER at Claypool. Mrs. BURL CUNNINGHAM, who has been ill, had a nice surprise when some neighbors gathered all the ripe beans and canned them. They were Mesdames FRED WEBB, W. L. BROCK, LEE CLARK and DELORA LANGFORD. Mr. and Mrs. W. G. BUSTER, nee Miss LORETTA PETTY, of Dallas, arrived to visit her sisters, Mrs. L. H. STOWE and Mrs. FLOYD MILLER and families. The Busters are on their way to attend a family reunion at the old Buster plantation in Kentucky. Mrs. FANNIE DAWSON, Mr. and Mrs. JERRY BRANDON and little daughter JERRY MARILYN and Mrs. RALPH PATTON returned from Carlsbad Caverns. Mr. and Mrs. WAYNE BOTKIN of Anderson, Indiana are the proud parents of a baby girl born May 25 in the Anderson hospital. She weighed 7 ½ pounds and named SANDRA ELLEN. Wayne was with the Waurika paper several years ago. Miss IRENE MOORE of Dallas, formerly of Waurika, arrived to visit her brother GUY MOORE and family, Mrs. HAYS DILLARD and other friends. Then she will go to New York to spend the summer with her sister, Mrs. E. L. FLETCHER, and to take post graduate work at Columbia University. She will resume her position as teacher in Dallas schools. Mr. and Mrs. TOMMY KIER and sons THOMAS EDWARD and DENNEY MILES returned from visiting his mother and other relatives at Glenwood, Iowa. His brother SHERWOOD accompanied them home. Mrs. W. R. SPARKS, who visited her sister Mrs. GUY HARRIS and Mr. Harris at Dallas, came home to look after business. Messages from W. Y. DILLEY, who with his wife is in Rochester, Minnesota where he is under medical treatment, states they are both well. Mr. and Mrs. TOM SIMS and Mr. and Mrs. P. W. DENNEY left by auto for Washington, Atlantic City and other points. They expect to visit Mr. and Mrs. GIBBINS near Hot Springs. Miss FAY COUNTISS of Electra, Texas visited here. CECIL SPIVEY of Waurika, son of HENRY SPIVEY, who is in the U. S. Marines, sailed for San Diego, California for a two year cruise. Mrs. A. E. KINSEY and daughter of Hollywood, Calif., have been guests of Mrs. J. H. CAIN. Mrs. Kinsey is the former MARY TIERNEY, noted musician of Los Angeles and Hollywood and music teacher of Mrs. Cain. Mrs. MARY COOPER of Oklahoma City, who has been here for five months, left. RUTH WILLIAMS and JO ANN MARMADUKE of Duncan visited the latter's grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. F. C. MARMADUKE and her aunt, Mrs. GEORGE CLEMENTS and family. The little ladies rode on the train. TALLEY returned from a visit with her daughter-in-law, Mrs. EMMA WEST and Mr. West at Muskogee, also in Muskogee were Mrs. Talley's granddaughter, only daughter of the late RAYMOND TALLEY, who is now Mrs. CECIL MYERS of Nashville, Tennessee, Mr. Myers and their two small sons, KENNETH and DONALD RAYMOND. Mrs. Talley also visited Mrs. CARL SUMMERS and family while in Drumright and Duncan. Mrs. MARSHALL SAMPLES and children JONELL, DON and RICHARD were guests of her sister, Mrs. E. E. COPELAND, and family at Nocona, Texas. Mrs. NORA JANE PETERS visited relatives at Denton, Texas, then was accompanied to Gainesville by Mrs. G. R. GRAMMAR who had visited her sister Mrs. R. C. GROGAN who had visited there. Mrs. WILLIAM E. WIDNER, nee Miss MARY JANE KETCHEN, of Fort Worth visited her parents here, Mr. and Mrs. P. J. KETCHEN, and her sister Mrs. HENRY NALL and family. JOE MARTIN returned to his job with Humble Oil Company at Tom Ball, Texas after visiting here. SAM GRUNDY returned to California after bringing his mother, Mrs. S. E. One half block north of RODEN Filling Station at 210 E. R.R. Avenue. Mrs. MYRTLE FELDER. GEORGE W. MCNEELY GEORGE W. MCNEELY was born in Washington County, Arkansas on March 26, 1874 and died at the Waurika hospital June 14, 1936, aged 72 years, two months, and 20 days. He was married to Miss WILLIE PENDLETON March 21, 1888 and to them were born two children, one dying in infancy and one surviving together with his wife and three children. Mr. McNeely had been ill for the past four years in bed, suffering from cancer. He and Mrs. McNeely were in the storm of two weeks ago when their home was destroyed and both were injured. PAUL HARRIS of Chickasha was here on business. LESTER DEAN of Stoneburg, Texas visited his father W. L. DEAN. Mr. and Mrs. J. W. DODD and daughter of South Center Point community were in a serious accident Saturday while returning from attending church at Ringling. Mr. Dodd had a fractured leg, Mrs. Dodd had a fractured skull and other injuries, and Miss Todd was bruised. A young man named TOTEN was uninjured. BONNIE STEPP of Loco visited his aunt Mr. J. B. TAYLOR who had been in bad health for several weeks. Miss RUBY HOLLOWAY of Cornish went to visit her father H. C. HOLLOWAY at Centrahoma. Miss CORENE WATTS of Cornish was in Norman. W. H. HACKLER of Cornish, who was in an accident Saturday when a team of horses knocked him down and ran over him, is reported doing as well as could be expected at this time. Owing to the death of Mrs. HUGHES' father, the M. B. O. club did not meet. LLOYD WATTS visited at Wilson. Mr. and Mrs. CLAUDE FLETCHER and children BILLY ROSS, RHOE, CHARLES CREED and MAUNETTE of Healdton visited her father, W. H. HACKLER here. Mrs. JOHN COX and daughter BILLIE JEAN of Healdton visited in Cornish. CORENE and MORENE DEAN returned from visiting relatives at Stoneburg, Texas. Ms. S. W. LAYTON, matron of the Cornish Orphans' Home, was in Ardmore. Mrs. WALTER ROSE of Cornish went to Ardmore. Mr. and Mrs. JOHN K .O'DELL of Dillard visited friends here. Sloan-Wright CECIL WRIGHT and Miss MILDRED SLOAN, both of Cement, motored to Cornish, accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. DEE PARSON of Cement and Mrs. DAVID LESTER of Atlee, and united in bonds of matrimony by W. C. HOGAN. The groom was reared in the Atlee community, son of the late JOHN WRIGHT, one time sheriff of the county.
