ROBERTS of Perry, assisted by Rev. FRED EASTHAM of the First Baptist church at Wichita Falls and Rev. K. F. KELLER of the Ryan Baptist church. Each of these friends sought to comfort aching hearts and paid beautiful tributes to the nobility and the strength of character of a Texas and Oklahoma ranchman, who helped make early day history in his every day living and who ascended from humblest beginning to achieve great financial success. But greater than any heritage of wealth that the sturdy old pioneer left his children and grandchildren and those who will follow them, is the influence and memory of a four square Christian life. The old man around about 5:00 and attempted to start his fire by pouring coal oil on burning embers. An explosion then probably came and he was enveloped in flames. His little shack was located near the business part of Terral just back of the DAN CAMPBELL grocery. It was made of scrap lumber and sheet iron. Mr. Ingram supported himself on the meager sum he received from the old age pension fund and from help given him by friends. He had relatives at Henrietta, Texas who came to Terral for his body and buried it at Buffalo Springs, Texas. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Return to Jefferson County Archives: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ok/jefferson/jefferson.htm
