All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Lawton Constitution 27 Mar 2003 Marie Dunham Alford RYAN — Funeral for former Sterling resident Marie Dunham Alford, 87, Ryan, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Ryan First Baptist Church with Trey Smart officiating. Mr. Alford died Tuesday, March 25, 2003, at a Ryan care center. Burial will be at 2 p.m. at Sterling Cemetery under direction of Dudley Funeral Home, Ryan. She was born Feb. 7, 1916, in Earlsboro to Fred and Lizzie Price Dunham. She married George Alford on Aug. 20, 1939, in Sterling. She was a retired educator and taught in area schools for 41 years. She taught at Ryan Schools 30 years, at Terral two years, at Sterling six years and at Beaver Valley three years. She had been a member of Ryan First Baptist Church for 56 years. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Kay and Bill Wallace, Lawton; a grandson, Jamie Edwards, Lawton; a granddaughter, Stacy McGlory, Lawton; and two great-grandsons: Alec and Riley McGlory, both of Lawton. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, two sisters and her husband.
