Funeral: 3:30 p.m. Friday in Mount Olivet Chapel. Burial: Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Mount Olivet Funeral Home. Bill was born Feb. 27, 1918, in Ringling, Okla. He retired from the Air Force and was an avid gardener. He was a deacon at a Baptist church in Azle. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wesley and Maude Bennett; brothers, Pat, Dan, Dude, Skeet and Marion; and sister, Mary Lou. Survivors: Daughters, Vivian Bennett, Pamela Whatley, Patricia Kendrick and Paula Covington; son, William Bennett Jr.; mother of his children, Maxine Stone; three sisters; two brothers; 10 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
