Born June 29, 1928, in Waurika, Okla., Mrs. Brown had been a longtime Woodland resident. She was a Dixon resident for the past 25 years. She and her husband were partners in NAPA Auto Parts of Dixon for 25 years and she was a homemaker for 52 years. According to her family, "she was a loving wife, mother and grandmother." Mrs. Brown is survived by her husband, Joe M. Brown; daughters, Karen Brown-Camby and husband Ray of Dixon, and Jo-Ann Espitallier of Woodland; and grandchildren, Anna, Madeleine and Nathan Espitallier of Woodland. Also surviving are her sister Frances Ahl and husband Vern of Bakersfield; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her brother, James S. Moore Jr. Visitation is scheduled from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 24, at Milton Carpenter Funeral Home in Dixon. A funeral service is scheduled at 1 p.m., Thursday, April 25, at Dixon Community Church, with the Rev. Catharine Morris, of United Methodist Church of Dixon, presiding. Interment is scheduled to follow in Silveyville Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to American Cancer Society, 1652 West Texas St., Suite 110, Fairfield, 94533.
