Brown, 76, of Amarillo, died Wednesday, Nov. 5, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 6969 E. Interstate 40, with the Rev. Marvin Suttle of San Jacinto Assembly of God officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Brown was born in Waurika, Okla. He moved to Amarillo in 1970 from Gruver. He married Gladys Shreve in 1942 at Vega. Mr. Brown served with the Army from 1943 to 1945. He worked for the Texas Highway Department as an expressway supervisor in maintenance construction. He was a Baptist and a charter member of the Lions Club in Gruver. He was a member of the Gruver Chamber of Commerce and the American Legion. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Louise Brown, in 1943.
