All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Chickasha Daily Express, Mon., June 10, 1991 Howard Carpenter Funeral service for Howard Carpenter, 67, of Chickasha, Okla. will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 12, 1991 in the Chapel of the Sevier Funeral Home in Chickasha. He was born Oct. 18, 1923 in Waurika, Okla. and died Sunday, June 9, 1991 in Oklahoma City. Mr. Carpenter had been a barber for over 40 years, working in several shops in Chickasha. He owned and operated his own shop on 16th Street and in the Grandview Shopping Center. He worked at the Clipper Ship Barber Shop until he retired in 1990. He also worked as a toll booth attendant for the Oklahoma Turnpike Authority for 11 years, retiring in 1985. He and Agnes Hill were married in Oklahoma City Sept. 14, 1947. Mr. Carpenter served in the Army Air Corps during WWII and was a member of the American Legion. He was preceded in death by his parents, W.S. and Nora (Daley) Carpenter and two brothers, James E. Carpenter and Carroll Mike Carpenter. Survivors include his wife Agnes, of the home; two daughters - Brenda Horry of Chickasha and Judy Horstkoetter of Moore, Okla.; two sons; Howard W. Carpenter of Chickasha and Craig Carpenter; two sisters - Almeta Webb and Lela Davis, both of Chickasha; 11 grandchildren, two great- grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
