All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Jack Cartwright MORTON - Jack Cartwright, 76, died Thursday, Oct. 8, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Second and Taylor Street Church of Christ in Morton with Bill Schlabach, minister, officiating. Burial will be in Morton Memorial Cemetery by Ellis Funeral Home. Mr. Cartwright was born in Ringling, Okla. In 1949, he moved to Cochran County from Oklahoma. He had been employed at the Morton Cotton Seed Delinting Co. for a number of years. He was a member of the Second and Taylor Street Church of Christ where he had served as an elder. Mr. Cartwright was a member of Morton Senior Citizens where he had served on the board as president. He also served on the Senior Companion Board of Levelland. He married Bessie Ward in 1942 at Marietta, Okla. Survivors include his wife; three sons, Len Cartwright of Levelland, Jimmy Cartwright of Peculiar, Mo., and Terry Cartwright of Bayfield, Colo.; a daughter, Linda Cheek of Morton; three sisters, Irene Kemp of Gainesville, Ida Auld of Rubottom, Okla., and Wanda Chapman of Velma, Okla.; a brother, Walter Cartwright of Rush Springs, Okla.; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to Hospice of Lubbock, P.O. Box 53276, Lubbock, TX 79453; or the American Cancer Society, 2411 73rd St., Lubbock, TX 79423.
