All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Arlington National Cemetery--Washington DC Couch, Ruby Ann 1930 - 2005 Ruby Ann Couch, 74, a retired home economics teacher with Fort Worth Public Schools, died Thursday, Feb. 3, 2005, at her residence. Funeral: 1 p.m. Monday in the Sanctuary of First Presbyterian Church. Burial: Arlington National Cemetery. Visitation: 2 to 4 pm Sunday in the Williamsburg Room of Thompson's Harveson and Cole. Memorials: Her memory may be honored with a gift to the Memorial Fund at First Presbyterian Church. Ann was born Sept. 23, 1930, in Waurika, Okla., to Elmer and Sophia Clements Craven. Ann graduated from high school in Hastings, Okla., and received a B.A. in home economics from Oklahoma College for Women. She was married to Captain Roy E. Couch on May 8, 1956. He was later promoted to full colonel and on Feb. 7, 1970, was killed in action while serving in Vietnam. Ann and her three young daughters moved to Fort Worth in 1972, where she continued her education, receiving her master's degree from TCU in 1976. Ann taught in the FWISD and in Joshua schools for a number of years. After her retirement, she became active in her church, First Presbyterian, serving as a church hostess. She was also a member of the Fort Worth Woman's Club, holding several offices and also serving on the Scholarship Committee for the last three years. She was preceded in death by her sister, Ruth; and brothers, Charles and David Craven. Survivors: Children, Karen G. Couch Murphy and her husband, Mark; Melanie Blount and her husband, Le Grande; Cheryl Couch Thomas and her husband, David; grandchildren, Meghan and Keith Murphy, Travis and Tracy Blount, Erin and Ian Thomas; sister, Mary Gibson; and numerous nephews and nieces.
