"Ted" Eakin, 97, died Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2002, in Borger. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Sunset Memorial Cemetery with the Rev. Dale Brown officiating. Arrangements are by Brown Funeral Directors of Borger. Mr. Eakin was born Oct. 13, 1904, in Petersburg, Indian Territory. He lived in Stinnett for 33 years and was an oil field pumper. Survivors include his wife, Dorsey; three sons, Kenneth Eakin of Dumas, Pete Eakin of Stinnett, and Cloyce Eakin of Amarillo; two step-sons, David Reed of Arkansas, and Dennis Reed of Houston; two daughters, Marlene Brame of Skellytown and Betty Dilbeck of Checotah, Okla.; a step-daughter, Connie Reed of Alexandria, La.; and numerous grandchildren, great- grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
