Service will be at 3 p.m. Monday at the First Baptist Church in Comanche with the Rev. Gary Smith officiating and Timothy Ball assisting. Burial will be in the Duncan Cemetery under the direction of the Carter-Smart Funeral Home. Family visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. today at the Carter-Smart Funeral Home. Mr. Edgar was born June 10, 1931, to Jessie Clyde and Irene Edgar in Addington. He was a deacon at the First Baptist Church of Comanche and a member of the Comanche Lodge No. 41, the Red Red Rose and the Eastern Star organizations. Mr. Edgar loved his church and family. He fished with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was always in search of “Mr. Biggie.” He raised beagles. He married Pauline on Nov. 6, 1951, in Wichita Falls and lived in Comanche most of his life. Survivors includes his wife, Pauline, of the home; a son, J.P. Edgar and his wife Carla of Comanche; two daughters and their spouses, Sandra and Robert Knell of Duncan, and Susan and Dan Mitchell of Mustang; grandchildren Joseph and Jonna Roberts, Melissa Myers, Jennifer Pogue, Brianne Knoll, Ashley Edgar, Cam Edgar; and step-grandchildren Wesley Mitchell and Miranda Laminack. He was preceded in death by one brother and three sisters. Bearers are Mike Keister, Charlie Dunlap, Preston Byford, Royce Wisdom, Dee Bowen and Ron Roberts. Honorary bearers are members of the Comanche Lodge No. 41.
