All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Russell Floyd LOCKNEY - Russell Floyd, 89, of Lubbock, died Thursday, July 15, 1999. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Lockney Cemetery with the Rev. Wayne R. Williams, pastor emeritus of Parkway Drive Baptist Church in Lubbock, officiating. Arrangements are by Moore-RoseWhite Funeral Home of Lockney. Mr. Floyd was born in Lockney and attended schools in Atlee, Okla., and Aiken. In 1923, his family moved from Oklahoma back to Lockney in covered wagons. He lived in Brownfield, Tucumcari, N. M., and then moved to Seminole in 1950. A retired farmer, Mr. Floyd helped build dams as well as raise livestock. During World War II, he was a mechanic in the Army Air Corp. He was a 57- year Mason with the Shallowater Masonic Lodge No. 1279 and a member of Bacon Heights Baptist Church in Lubbock. He married Cleta Bales in 1952 at Loving, N. M. She died in 1990. Survivors include a son, Clifford Floyd of Lubbock; a brother, Marvin Floyd of Shallowater; two sisters, Clifford Goldwater of Lubbock and Doris Kennedy of Beaumont, Calif.; and two grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to Shallowater Masonic Lodge No. 1279, 1205 Ave. H, Shallowater, TX 79363.
