All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Fairlawn Cemetery--Comanche OK Lawton Constituion 10 Aug 2003 Kenneth Edward Gaines COMANCHE - Funeral for Kenneth Edward Gaines, 63, Comanche, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Corum Baptist Church with the Rev. Bruce Humphries officiating. Mr. Gaines died Saturday, Aug. 9, 2003, in a Duncan hospital. Burial will be at Fairlawn Cemetery under direction of Dudley Funeral Home, Waurika. He was born April 28, 1940, in Leonard, Mo., to Estel and Mary Gaines. After graduating from high school in 1958, he entered the U.S. Army at Fort Rucker, Ala. He married Shirley Ann Boren on Aug. 13, 1960, at Corum Baptist Church. He served as postmaster in Ryan, Countyline and Addington until his retirement. He was a member of the National Association of Postmasters, Corum Baptist Church and the Masonic Lodge. Survivors include his wife, of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, Russell and Sherri Gaines, Comanche; a daughter, Karen Gaines, Comanche; three grandsons: Dakota, Landon and Braeden Gaines; his parents, Estel and Mary Jane Gaines, Shelbyville, Mo.; two brothers and sisters-in-law: James and Phyllis Gaines, and Bobby and Linda Gaines, all of Shelbyville, Mo.; two sisters and brothers-in-law: Janette and Larry Cooper, Clarence, Mo.; and JoAnne and Larry Thrasher, Shelbyville, Mo.; two sisters-in-law: Peggy Schmitt, Lawton, and Carole Boren, Tulsa; his father-in-law, Earl Boren, Waurika; a special niece, Susie Harris, Waurika; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
