Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. today in Citizens Cemetery at Clarendon with the Rev. Truman Ledbetter, pastor of First Baptist Church of Clarendon, officiating. Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors of Clarendon. Mr. Hughes was born in Ryan, Okla. He had lived in Plainview for 20 years, Slaton for three years and in Howardwick for the last 10 years. He was a retired truck driver and a member of the Seth Ward Baptist Church in Plainview. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillie Mae Henry, in June. Survivors include three daughters, Sherry York of Howardwick, Gail Edwards of Oklahoma City and Paula Patton of Wichita, Kan.; two sons, Dwayne Hughes and Gary Hughes, both of Waurika, Okla.; two brothers, Billy Hughes of Sidney, Neb., and Dale Hughes of Plainview; two sisters, Lorene Van Zant of Tucson, Ariz., and Bonnie Howard of Lipan; 10 grandchildren; and 12 greatgrandchildren.
