All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== ::Hastings Cemetery--Hastings OK Lawton Constitution 09 Jun 2003 Eugene Everett Hight HASTINGS — Funeral for Eugene Everett Hight, 82, Hastings, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Waurika First United Methodist Church with the Revs. Reed Montgomery and Neal Burum officiating. Mr. Hight died Saturday, June 7, 2003, in Hastings. Burial will be at Hastings Cemetery under direction of Dudley Funeral Home. Be was born in Spain Hill on Dec. 23, 1920, to Everett and Leila Hight. He married Ruth Burum in 1941 and moved to the current homeplace, where he farmed and ranched. He was a substitute mail carrier for the Hastings routes from 1949-51. He worked for the Halliburton Oil Company in Duncan for 34 years. He served as vice president of the Farm Home Administration Board and on the Hastings School District Board of Education. He was a co- founder and board member of the Hastings Senior Citizens Center and a member of First Methodist Church. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Carolyn and Don Burton and Jackie and James Wood, all of Lawton; a son, Don Hight, Hastings; a sister, Louise Clark, Hastings; six grandchildren; five great- grandchildren; and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; a brother, Richard Hight; and a grandson, Ryan Jay Wood.
