Hawkins, Lora Mae 

Lora Mae Hawkins, 78, of Amarillo, died Sunday, March 2, 1997.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday in Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel of 
Memories, 6969 E. Interstate 40, with the Rev. Al Norris officiating. 
Entombment will be in Memorial Park East Mausoleum.

Mrs. Hawkins was born in Fort Worth. She moved to Amarillo in 1945 from 
Jefferson County, Okla.

She was a nurse for Northwest Texas Hospital. She retired after 26 years 
of employment. She was a member of Grand Avenue Baptist Church, the 
Amarillo Orthopedic Association, the Panhandle Boat and Ski Club and the 
American Rabbit Breeders Association.

Survivors include three sons, James Melton Hawkins, John Wayne Hawkins and 
Barry Jack Hawkins, all of Amarillo; three daughters, Nancy Joan Gulish, 
Frances Joleene Scaggs and Deloras Susie Marthaller, all of Amarillo; 15 
grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren.
